DIAS MEMORIAL FUNDS STORES
“As president of the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, I started the Dias Memorial Stores in the Institute by
presenting sets of equipment to the Institute for hiring on reasonable rates to Indian expeditions. In later years,
we donated some more equipment and also two cash installments of more than Rs 20,000.00 for purchase of
equipment. Today Dias memorial Stores are the largest mountaineering stores for hiring of mountaineering
equipment in India and NIM is the most popular Institute for hiring of equipment by Indian Expeditions. This
is largely because it is enroute to the popular Gaumukh range of mountains, and also due to the excellent
maintenance of the equipment and courtesy of the NIM Staff”.
Late Shri H.C. Sarin, President Emeritus, IMF
