3 Scope of Work
i. To collect all relevant data of the 220/33 kV GIS HVPNL substation from
M/s IMP Powers Limited, based on the requirement of power system studies using
MiPower® Software.
ii. To conduct load flow study to bring out the real (MW) and reactive (MVAR) power
flows, bus voltage profile.
iii. To conduct short circuit studies to determine the 3-phase and single line to ground
faults currents in order to evaluate the breaker rating sufficiency.
iv. Protection review of transformers, busbars, overhead lines to determine and cross
check the existing relay settings & to suggest setting changes as required so that
same can be incorporated in the substation.
v. To check the possibility of occurrence of overvoltages at the transformer terminal
due to the external disturbances/lightning surges and also to check the adequacy
and location of surge arresters, the following studies will be conducted.
vi. Review of disturbance recorder files and event logs to analyse the provided DR
events.
Collection of relevant data of the 220/33kV GIS HVPNL Substation. The data
collection will be based on the requirement of studies.
All data pertaining to power system elements will be collected in prescribed
data formats.
The power system network will be modeled in “MiPower®” based on collected
data.
The study will bring out the real (MW) and reactive (MVAR) power flows and
bus voltage profiles and system losses.
Load flow studies are conducted to determine the voltage profile in the plant
for minimum and maximum voltage conditions of the Grid to arrive at adequate
tap positions for the transformers, real and reactive power losses and to
determine the reactive power compensation requirements.
The following parameters shall be determined for each of the short circuit studies:
Protection analysis and co-ordination study will be carried out for the electrical
power system.
Protection studies will calculate and predict the protection system response
from the inception of each fault to the complete cessation of the fault current
including both relay and circuit breaker tripping.
The relay co-ordination studies are conducted to determine and cross check the
existing relay settings and the type of relays.
Review of unit protection / individual protection settings (Transformer, busbar).
Sequence of powering up of substations in phases and any change in relay
coordination.
The changes in the settings as required will be indicated by PRDC so that same
can be incorporated for better co-ordination protection.
