LET CHRIST FILL YOU

I'm not going to pretend to understand what you're dealing through. I'm not going to pretend
that I can feel your grief in my breast or that I've seen the riches of sorrow that has come
knocking at your doorstep. I will not claim to have all of the answers or to be able to heal
anyone. My Lord is the world’s largest Savior, and I realize it may sound unusual. I understand if
you're sitting there with your nose crinkled and your brow wrinkled, shaking your head at the
prospect of believing in with something you can't see. I know what you're going through, and
I'm here to help. I grew up in a Christian home, but it wasn't until I was in my twenties that I
fully believed in God. I used to be in the same boat as you: doubtful. I was thinking about how
bizarre it was to place your trust in a figure you couldn't see, a person with a child who
reportedly lived on earth hundreds of years ago. That seemed quite too good to be true, a little
too flawless.

But then I turned around and witnessed the world’s largest beauty. I changed my perspective to
mysteries, to my humanity, to the vastness of the sky, and realized that none of this could have
been unless it had been created by a force greater than us. And each one of my defects and
oddities, each blemish on my skin, the color of my eyes, the manner I laugh, and my love of
writing are all distinct to me, and nobody else has them. And it's difficult not to trust in to
something greater just because of our individualism.

My prior pain, uncertainty, pessimism, and futile attempts were all restored in His name. I
offered Him my uncertainty and irritation, my lingering questions, and the uncertainties that
were continuously pressing on my heart, and I made solace. So, wherever you may be, I invite
you to do so as well. To risk your heart to the only person who has the ability to save you. To
the one who made you, who knows how many hairs are on your head and how many cells are
in your body. The person who has memorized everything from the sound of your laughter to
the amount proportional of your smug smile.

Accept your pain and place it on His arms. Allow your anxieties, mistakes, disappointments, and
flaws to evaporate in the name of Jesus Christ. Allow yourself to be free. Fill yourself up. I pray
that you will surrender your life to Him. That you give Him control and allow Him to mold you
into the person He wants you to be. That you allow Him to lead you to the place where you
belong—a sanctuary of hope and joy. Whenever you feel like you've reached the end of your
rope, I hope you'll hold on and grasp for Him. And you'll allow Him to lift you back to your feet
so you can start over. I hope you are aware of how much God loves you. By a man you've never
met, but who created you, knows you, and wants anybody to be a part of your life.
