Description

Natixis Investment Managers, a global asset management company, is looking for a data engineer to help
design, build and manage business critical data pipelines that power applications and deliver data to
customers. This role will be responsible for taking part in business and systems analysis, carrying out design,
implementation and testing of data solutions to meet and surpass the requirements of our business partners,
and regulators. In addition, this role will be serving on an on-call rotation providing off hours support as
needed to ensure critical processes run without disruption for our business partners.

Major Responsibilities

Identify data needs for business teams, understand their specific requirements for metrics and analysis,
and build efficient and scalable data pipelines to enable data-driven decisions across Natixis, develop,
and own data pipelines and models that power internal analytics for business teams

Drive the collection of new data and the refinement of existing data sources, develop relationships with
infrastructure teams to manage our technology stack as the data journey evolves
Develop strong subject matter expertise and manage the SLAs for those data pipelines
Ability to gather requirements from business partners and implement solutions for the same.
Ability to design solutions through best practices of design patterns taking into account future scalability
and changes as needed.
Ability to think creatively to offer innovative solutions for our business needs
Participate in unit and regression testing during every release.
Provide business support to various business units within the company for both off-premise and on
premise applications and systems.
Provide technical expertise and development responsibility in Team’s framework development, security
aspects of applications, sales reporting transactional and analytical environment, customer relationship
management, deployed through various vendor and in-house developed solutions.
Responsible for system analysis, design, coding, configuration, testing, and documentation.
Contribute in designing and implementing integration solutions between various systems.
Support nightly batch production cycles, which requires periodic on call responsibility.

Experience/Skills Required

Computer Science degree or equivalent with 5+ years of practical experience

At least 3+ years of data engineering and analytics environments
Experience in database technologies such as Redshift, Snowflake, AWS Aurora, MySQL, Azure SQL
Server
Proficiency in python programming with 3+ years of practical experience specifically working with data
and ETL design patterns
Proficiency in relational database development and advanced knowledge of running efficient SQL
queries, and data modeling
Experience in devops, scheduling, project management and IT governance tools and platforms such as
Git, Codecommit, Rundeck, Autosys, Jira and Azure DevOps and Service Now
Experience developing on Linux and Windows platforms
Through understanding of all phases of the software development lifecycle and development
methodologies
Desire to work in fast-paced delivery-focused environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Passion for learning and implementing new technologies
Strong business, problem solving, and analytical skills

Independent, self-starter requiring little supervision to complete tasks

Proactive in foreseeing potential business and technical problems and mitigating risk
Strong team player able to work in collaborative environment

Experience/Skills Preferred

Development experience with AWS, specifically services around Databases, Analytics, and S3
Experience working with data warehouses
Experience with GUI ETL tools such as Informatica
Experience working in the financial services industry
