Company Process information
Lesson Learnt and Challenges Faced

During my internship period at Pioneer Cement Limited, The whole experience

was very fantastic. As, I was from Mechanical Technology (DAE)
Background. The things which, I have studied in my classes, I done with them
practically.
As we know that Cement Industry includes almost 80% work related
Mechanical inspection and Trouble Shooting. The main areas where I have
worked is Kiln. As Kiln is back bone of Cement Industry. There exists a lot of
problems related Mechanical like Bearing Lubrications Problem, Inspection Of
gear box, kiln tyres.
During my internship, I have seem different planning maintenance in different
areas like Raw Mills, Cement Mills.
Conclusion
In cement industry, we actually take raw material from mountain which is
known as Lime stone (CaCO3). After blasting from mountain, Raw material is
carried to crusher. In Pioneer cement limited, there are two crushers for line 1
and Line 2.
After crushing the material to 5mm-15mm, material is conveyed towards
stackers. Stackers are used to make piles and then in yard, there are of different
types of piles like pure lime, Grey iron, Red iron and mixture of Clay+CaCO3.
After that material is sent towards raw mills (R1, R2, R3 ) through conveyer
belts. After that Raw material is stored in to CF Silo. From CF Silo, through
elevator, material is sent towards pre-heater. After passing through pre-heater,
material travel towards kiln and at the end main product is clinker. Clinker is
stored into clinker yard and clinker storage.
After that material is passed from cement mill and other additives are added
there. Now the main product is ready and then packing the fine product get
started and packed material is ready for sale purpose.
