BACKGROUND OF COMPANY

Maxis Communications or Maxis Berhad is a communications service provider in Malaysia.


It is one of the oldest and largest telecommunications companies in the country.
Headquartered in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, it provides a variety of communication products,
applications and value added services for consumers, large enterprises as well as small &
medium business owners. Maxis uses the dialing prefixes of "011 12000000 through
12499999", "012", "014-2", and "017". The majority of the company's stake is owned by
Malaysian billionaire, Ananda Krishnan.

Maxis operates 2G EDGE, 3G UMTS, 3G HSPA, 3G HSPA+, 4G LTE and 4G LTE-A


networks.

As of 2016, Maxis has a 100% 4G population coverage with minimum signal strength of -
110dBm in Klang Valley, Penang and Johor Bahru; 95% 4G population coverage with
minimum signal strength of -110dBm across all state capitals; 88% 4G population coverage
with minimum signal strength of -110dBm nationwide.

In July 2018, Maxis claimed that its 4G LTE network covered 92% of the human population
in the country.

There are several high-profile celebrities who have signed on as spokespersons for Maxis,
including Siti Nurhaliza, the Malaysian reality television show Akademi Fantasia's
contestants, along with Jessy Wong The Diva and Arthur the Brave and Fluffy. Maxis was
the first company to launch LTE services in Malaysia on 1 January 2013, starting in the
Klang Valley region.

TYPES OF PLANNING

There are two types of planning, which are strategic planning and operational planning for
strategic planning, it is the process of creating specific business strategies,implementing them,
and evaluating the results of executing the plan, regarding the overall long-term goals or
desires of a company. Three types of strategic planning are tactical plan, short-term plan and
long-term plan.

For Maxis tactical plan in the strategic plan, they announced that they were collaborating
with GCH Retail Sdn Bhd in 2012 to expand its distribution network. This collaboration has
brought the total number of telco distribution channels throughout Malaysia to more than
22,000 outlets. The collaboration with GCH Retail is an initiative by MAXIS to reach more
customers and deliver better convenience. As a result, by the endof this year, Maxis prepaid
SIM packs in 151 retail outlets including Giant retail outlets,Cold Storage and Mercato
supermarkets in peninsular Malaysia, Sabah and Sarawak willbe made available for purchase.
This vital partnership also stamped a breakthrough forthe company, making Maxis the
primary telco operators within the region to offer prepaid SIM packs in Giant Hypermarkets,
Supermarkets, and Superstores across the country.
TYPES OF OPERATIONAL PLAN

Operational planning is a very comprehensive plan that gives a clear view of how a team,

section or department will contribute to the achievement of the goals of the organization.

There are two types of operational planning. First, standing plan. Standing plans are made

to be used multiple times. The examples include policies for hiring, rules, employee

interaction, procedures for reporting internal issues, or complaints to the HR department.

Next, single-use plan. Single-use plans are also defined as 'specific plans' because their

purpose is to solve a specific issue. Some examples are budgets, programmes,

projects and reports.

For Maxis Berhad , they have procedure or ways to collect personal

information from their subscribers, which is one of their standing plans. The information is

obtained directly through different methods and platforms. For example, when the

subscribers use Maxis Group Sites or Services through cookies and other related

technologies, through Maxis’s own records of how the subscribers use Services or from

third parties.Besides that, Maxis Berhad also has rules for their employees.

Apart from the standing plan, Maxis also has a single-use plan. They

introduced “Bonanza Week Campaign” which commences at 00:00:00 on 17 May 2021

and ends at 23:59:59 on 7 August 2021. This is one of their programmes in a single-use

plan. For this campaign, the subscribers who top up RM30 and above will get a chance to

win prizes. For example, RM500 cash prize, 13-INCH Macbook Air, Huawei Matebook D

15 and many other prizes.
