    4140 is a chromium molybdenum quality alloy steel. It offers good ductility, shock resisting characteristics combined with resistance to wear. High strength and good impact
    properties with good machinability.

    Type of delivery

    Annealed, maximal 241 HB.


    Tempered, tensile strength 750 - 1300 N/mm2

    Applications

    Versatile material that is mainly used in automobile and transport equipment. Its high strength and high toughness simultaneously allow the use for highly stressed
    components such as steering knuckles, connecting rods, crankshafts, transmission shafts, gears and sprockets. In a quenched and additionally edge layer hardened
    condition this grade can also be used in the mechanical engineering.
