Notes:
1. Weaving shall not exceed 3 times electrode diameter.
2. Ensure machine and tools and tackles are calibrated and record welding machine type and make . The ranges for Arc Energy, Voltage and Amperage shall be
recorded during qualification.
3 Wind speed shelter shall be provided to protect weld area from high winds, rain, sand or dust, airborne moisture.
4 The beveled surface and adjacent material over a distance of at least 50mm shall be smooth, uniform, and free from laminations, Scale, paint, grease and other
foreign material that adversely affect weld quality before commencement of welding.
5. Number of runs on this WPS may vary from actual depending on the material thickness being welded and record during qualification. Wet or contaminated electrodes shall
not be used for welding.
6. Internal Line-up clamp shall not be removed until completion of the root pass and hot pass . Joint shall be completed within 24hrs from the time of hot pass completion.
7. In case shift ends without joint completion, at least 4 passes must be deposited the joint shall be cooled in a slow and uniform manner and joint shall be preheated to the
required preheat temp on resumption of welding.
8. Cleaning and / or grinding during passes shall be done using Power Brushing, (Pneumatic)/ Grinding/ Chipping Hamer
9. Lowering shall be permitted after completion of root and hot pass until then shall be held by side booms and supported on sandbags with sufficient clearance between
the pipe and ground/trench
10. All electrodes batch tests shall be documented by an inspection certificate in accordance with EN 10204 Type 3.1
11. Arc strikes shall not be permitted outside the weld bevel
12. On the end of the shift / work, end caps shall be provided to open end of pipes.
13. The working clearance around the pipe at the weld shall be as per requirement.
14. Each pipe shall be swabbed prior to alignment with pipeline, all sand, loose scale and foreign substances shall be removed from inside pipes

DETAILS OF NON – DESTRUCTIVE & DESTRUCTIVE TESTING

1. Visual Examination shall be as per ASME Section V, article 9 & Acceptance criteria shall
be as per 6.4 of API1104.
2. Non – Destructive Testing shall be radiography, ultrasonic and magnetic particle
examination
on the completed joints only for PQR.
3. Tensile Test shall be as per clause 5.6.2, Figure 3 and Table 2 of API 1104.
4. Nick Break Test shall be as per clause 5.6.3, Figure 3 and Table 2 of API 1104.
5. Bend Test shall be as per clause 5.6.4, Figure 3 and Table 2 of API 1104.
6. Impact Test shall be as per clause 7.4 (d) of ENG052-20ERW-000-QA-SPC-0003-000 at 3
O’ Clock position.
7. Hardness and Macro shall be as clause 7.4 (e) & (f) of ENG052-20ERW-000-QA-SPC-
0003-000 at 6 O’ clock position.
