Finals: MNCHS nailed 1-0 lead against OC

Coming off an unbeaten regular season for both squads, entering the finals was a
much awaited match up between the Masbate National Comprehensive High
School vs Osmeňa Colleges for game 1 at Magallanes coliseum last september

Though pressure was on for neither team playing in front of thousands of

supporters in attendance for both schools, showcasing a classic finals game was
displayed by the MNCHS dominating the boys in red from start to finish of the game

Salamuding along with his backcourt teammate Christian Bajar combined with 30
big points to lead their team to victory 90-69

Comprehensive are now one inch away to retaining the tittle on their palms

Meanwhile the Osmeňians as expected preparing for a comeback for game 2

Coach Diez believes that with teamwork and the talent that his boys have been
developed over the tournament they could force a deciding game 3 on Friday

“We just have to limit our turn overs and take care of the ball, set our plays but first
break their full court press” he added

On game 1 Osmeňa created 15 turnovers which are capitalized by Compre and

converted into points adding 27 atleast from their total score

On the other hand MNCHS has limit themselves to just 7 turnovers with 45%
shooting in the field which gave them a comfortable lead early in the game

their captain Marfil and center Jerome Magalaman and couple of threes from Lavilla
