planned to merge their individual businesses into one establishment; ending up having
the “Emporium City Mall’’.

three elite founder of Emporium City Mega Mall. As of now, they are the personnel who
manage and supervise what is left to them by their beloved parents.

Emporium City Mall is located at the center point of Social Center quadrangle, Capitol
Road, Brgy. Kalipay, Masbate City, Masbate.

Company History
Year 1980s, Reynard, Nick, and Jack are closest friend. These three individuals are from
an elite business personnel who are well-known in business industry. Reynard Porcadilla
graduated in University of Santo Tomas with a degree in a course of HRM and
Accounting. On the other hand, Nick Piezon graduated in Bicol University with a course
of Medicine and lastly, Jack Intila graduated with same school of Nick Piezon having the
course of Accountancy. As the times pass by, these three build their own businesses
based on what degree they had.
But suddenly, an incident happened. Nick and Jack lost their business because it was
being burned out by fire. They both were so desperate to have their business back again
but as they tried, it once again collapse and bankrupted. They both have the same
experience when it comes to business and at the same time with their wives. They were
both abandoned by their wives because they don’t have enough money to sustain their
needs. On the other hand, since Reynard’s business is growing and expanding, he
decided to help his two friends to stand up their own business and invest with his
business too since the his two friends has an extra emergency calamity fund and used it
as an investment on Reynard’s business.
The money they used as an investment grew which made them to finally come up with
their own business and have the idea of merging it in just a single location. They decided
to put it up in the resident barangay of Nick which is the Brgy. Kalipay since they see the
potential in it when it comes to business and the population itself also fits their target
market. As time goes by, the business starts to grow and expand and they started
renovating the place to make it more attractive to people as well as to the tourist that
are having a visit in Masbate.

To provide exceptional quality products at a competitive prices that will suit the
needs and wants of our customers with excellent service and develop a better
relationship between the employees and customers through the products and services
being offered by the establishment.

Vision Statement
Emporium City Mall is prospecting to build a more branches to establish a strong
worldwide presence and provide professionally managed work environment to grasp a
greater number of employee.

Emporium City Mall want to sell a different native products made by Filipino
here in our country to give emphasis to their efforts, creativity, skills and innovations
although the Mall will get foreign products but the priority of ECM is to give pride on
Filipino brand products.

II. PRODUCTS/ SERVICES AND TARGET MARKET


Emporium City Mall want to sell different native products made by Filipino here in our
country to give emphasis to Filipino’s efforts, creativity, skills and innovations although
the Mall will get foreign products but the priority of ECMM is to give pride on Pinoy
brand products.

COBBLES STORE
 A type of business establishment that is intended to sell different types of
products that will fit the basic necessities and wants of the customers such as
groceries, dry and canned goods, drinks, sweets and snacks, toiletries, beverages,
eggs and dairy products and etc. which was mainly distributed by different
product brand companies such as P&G or Procter and Gamble and Unilever.
 There are many competitors in the market with the same business venture
because a convenience type of store is the one that mainly have the basic
physiological needs of human being such as foods and drinks. Cobbles store has
similar to other stores product since most of the products are in the demand of
the consumers such as canned goods, groceries and more but the difference is
our product and services is that the quality are much more assured because
products are being handled with care from the process of transportation up to
the place and we are also accommodating as well as promote native products
made by Masbateños to be also sold in the market and gain local market share.
In addition, we will also be assuring the competitiveness of our business because
our business intends to leverage our locational advantage since the location itself
fits our target market for us to create higher profit potential.
 Products will be fulfilled by the customers through a pushing cart and self service
inside the store in getting their desired products to buy and will also be
accommodated by the cashiers over the counter to be punched and count the
amount of products they bought. Cobbles store will be also giving the
opportunity to Senior Citizens and PWD’s to avail 20% discount but with the
proper purchase booklet in their every total amount of item they purchased.
Cobbles will also be having a raffle twice a year only for those who have availed
their ECM VALUE CARD and a total gift pack (such as grocery worth ₱10,000 or
appliances) as a reward prize. The store will also be launching the annual
HOLLIDAY Sale and buy 1 take 1 promo every Christmas seasons for the regular
customers to lessen their expenses.
The native products that will be sold in the Cobbles store will be processed in our
owned ECM factory and will be displayed further after the process of raw
materials into a finished product.
 There will be CCTV Cameras installed for the safety of every customers and to
look out for the movements of every buyer. There are also price scanner placed
on the wall for the less hassle of the customers when it comes to prices of the
products as well as freezers for the frozen goods and display cabinets for the
organization of the products. The workers of the Cobbles store will always be
around to assist every concern of our customers. We’ll also have the teller
machine to compute the total amount of purchased product to be manipulated
by the cashiers.
 Cobbles store aims to be the best convenience store not just in Masbate but also
to the whole country and feature out all the native goods made by the
Masbatenos.

 Laps Dito, Laps Doon Restaurant offers different types of healthy and delicious
native and foreign foods that are suitable for both partners, peers, family, and
also to a single one for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and also accepting catering
services in different occasions such as birthdays, wedding, debut and etc.
 Laps restaurant has in common with some other restaurants in the market
because some foods have the same description but the difference is that our
food products has a twist because even though we are specializing native foods,
we will also be making foreign foods for those tourists and even for the residents
of Masbate to try something new and unique types of foods. In terms of service,
we will be having a fast kind of service to the customers because we have many
employers to serve everything that our valued customers requests.
 We are a self-service type of restaurant but if ever our customers’ needs a little
assistance, our workers will always be on the go to entertain. The foods will be
processed inside the kitchen hall by our well-trained chefs and we will also be
having our own farm for the production of meats and vegetables to assure the
freshness and safety of our food products.
We will be accepting catering services for all occasions. Our customers in the
restaurant will also be guaranteed with our special promos every holiday seasons
like every purchase of foods worth ₱200, they can have free desserts such as
halo-halo, shakes and etc.
 Since we are accommodating our customers through dine-in, we want them to be
comfortable that’s why we will be installing air-conditioners and televisions,
chairs and tables for a very good ambiance. Equipment such as Ovens, stoves,
freezer, refrigerator, and culinary tools will be used as food processor. Counter
touchscreen tablet for the customer bills that will be operated by the cashiers.
Generally, the ECM mall will also have a power generator as back-up in case of
emergency.
 Aim to be the famous favourable restaurant in terms of catering services, and be
well known in terms of having good quality taste of foods.

MEDICARE
 Medicare drugstore sells different kinds of medical and health products such as
medicines for different kinds of diseases, vitamins, herbal products as well as
beauty products for adults, teens, kids and even infants.
 The competition between drug stores in the city is a vast. Medicines, herbal
products, and beauty products are mostly similar to the products of other drug
store in the market but we ensure that our products are at its best quality and at
the same time can be bought in the market with affordability with the followed
suggested retail price and are highly recommended by the PDA since the
products are well examined by different specialist in order for us also to assure
the safety of everyone.
 Products such as medicines and etc. will be fulfilled to the customers through the
help of the working personnel's inside the establishment and also with the
proper subscription of the specialist within the right dosage of the product.
Medicare will also be offering discounts to Senior citizens as well as promotion
and sale that will be launched seasonal in order for the customers to avail
discounts and less expense.
 Medicare drugstore has its own delivery truck for the delivery purposes of the
products whenever it is needed. There are also special equipment and
technology installed inside the store for the operations to be more convenient
and efficient. Special software such as recorded pricelist that is being
manipulated by computers that is being placed on the walls for the less hassle of
the customers when it comes to the prices. The place itself also have air
conditioners to satisfy our customers as well as teller machines for the immediate
recording of sold products. When it comes to the security, we also have the CCTV
cameras to be the “all time look-out” of the store and to secure the movement of
every customers that are going in and out the drugstore.
 Medicare drugstore aims to the number 1 distributor of foreign and local
medicines, herbs, beauty products not just in Masbate but also in the whole
country and launch more branches in every mall out of the Philippines.

services to our valued customers .The company`s main branch is located at Brgy.
Kalipay, Masbate City inside the social center quadrangle.

The Emporuim City Mall wants to maintain its competitiveness despite having so
much competitors in the market. The ECM Mall also look forward to those products
in trend that fits the demand of the customers as well as their wants and necessities.
Since ECM also accept those investors who want to have their own place in the mall,
we’ll be assuring that the products they will be selling are all in good quality as well
as always in trend to be patronized well by the customers.
Through the promotions and raffle promos being launched by the company, we
can also guarantee that there is big chance of getting the taste of our valued
customers. The establishment will always be up-to-date when it comes to the trends
that are in demand seasonally in order for the ECM not to be left behind and
continue to be patronized by the buyers.

Since 1998, the Emporium City Mall was build and currently known as one of the
famous and big Mall in the entire Province of Masbate the company started to
achieve its total sales on 20%.However, as the Emporium City Mall started to boost
and started to progress, the total sales of ECM increase in 80% in the year 2006-
2009.In the year 2010-2013 the decrease of sales during this year’s occurs because
some of the Malls are started to build which are the GAISANO Capital of Masbate,
the LCC Department Store, some of the drugstore like South Star Drugstore, Mercury
Drug, Botica Nelly, and other restaurant such as; Tiyo JOSE, Princess Eat all you Can
,D’ Captains, and many more, so that the ECM become unknown because of the
existing of such more competitors .Moreover, as Emporium City Mall launched its
new establishment which is the arcades which is suitable in such kids , group of
friends, families and more, continuous increasing of sales has been observed in the
year 2014-2017.

goods and services to everyone. Our company is targeting to accommodate people
who loves to shop and to those people that can avail different products and services
with quality at a lower price. The ECM Company are welcoming all possible
customers without age limit.

MARKET TEST RESULT


Emporium City Mall was comprises of three establishments; the Cobbles`s Store, the
MEDICare, and the Laps Dito,Laps Doon. On this section the results of all gathered
information was quiet presented below according to the corresponding
establishment stated above.

The data presented shows that 60% of the respondents are preferred to shop in
mall because according to them it is easy to shop and less expense in terms of fare
because in Mall, all of their necessities they need to buy was in the mall itself what
they need to do is to walk around and find on the specific establishment they are to
be. However, 30% of the respondents’ answers was in Convenience store and the
rest 10% was in Tiangge.
 Where do the customers prefer to buy medicines?
Based from the survey conducted, 100% of the respondents answers that they
preferred to buy Medicines on the Drugstore only because according to them buying
medicines on the drugstore was surely safe than buying on a sari-sari store only.
Also, the respondents explains that there trust was fully on the drugstore to assure
the safety of their patients and to their selves as well.

The graph above shows the presentation of the data gathered based from the
selection of answers of the respondents. The data reveals that almost 55% of the
respondents preferred to eat on the Carinderia, than the restaurants. So that Emporium
City Mall build a Laps Dito, Laps Doon (a combination of restaurants and carinderia) that
serves native and foreign dishes. The main goal of this is, to attract customers that it is
possible that restaurants and carenderia were join together depends on the quality of
food and services offered by the company.

the assumed total number and the growth rate as well. The table indicates that the
most potential customers who will enjoy in ECM company and has the capability to
encourage other customers in patronizing of what the company offers was the Family.
According to the surveys, families are always going to mall to have some bonding with
their family members because when family are doing this on the mall, they tolerate the
mall as their second home which means that more profit will count since the member of
the family can avail or can purchase different products in different stalls. In addition,
employed personnel reach 20% possibility and 20% for tourists’ individuals. However,
the least potential customers who got 10% was the students it’s because students can
enter only after their class hours and for every Saturday`s and Sunday`s.
LEAD TIME
Emporium City Mall`s lead time to fulfil the customers depends on every
establishments comprises on it. In Cobbles`s Store and MEDICare, customers have a
freedom to avail and purchase every products which varies on what goods and services
suits on their needs and wants because on this two specified establishments ECM have
no time limit as long as the customers are enjoy in buying their necessities and as long
as the customers cannot fulfil satisfaction on it. In addition, Students are not allowed to
enter in ECM during their class hours, the students can enter only after their class or in
every Saturday`s and Sunday`s. However, in Laps Dito, Laps Doon customers can takes 3-
7 minutes to order in every product offers by the said restaurant.

COMPETITIVE ANALYSIS
Emporium city mall’s possible competitors in the market industry are those other big
companies such as the Gaisano capital Masbate, LCC department store, LCC express
mart, Ten Seven, different restaurants as well as drugstores in Masbate city since we are
all having similar services and products being offered. Despite having similarities when it
comes to products and services, the strength and advantage of ECM is that customers
can have their desired products such as medicines, foods as well as groceries in an
instant in only one establishment without any hassle of going to those specific branch of
drugstore, grocery and restaurant in the city. Although Gaisano has also its restaurant
and grocery store inside its establishment, we will ensure to maintain ECM’s
competitiveness in the market by enhancing its unique features and legendary services
by producing products with high quality and affordability as well as to gain more profit
potential and local market share.

legal and good for the customers.
Here are some of the brand names of that Cobbles Store sells;

On the other hand, the Laps Dito Laps Doon, offers products such as foods that has to be
cooked by the chefs to cook through its ingredients. Although, this restaurant is an
enterprise which needs to cook those foods that customers order, it also invest products
of raw ingredients from different companies or business to produces foods that
customers wanted to avail or eat. Here are some of the brand names that Laps Dito Laps
Doon uses in order to makes the food order by the customers was one of the delicious
and best food ever;

Cobbles store and Medicare also provides same products and services to the customers
same as the other companies or enterprise, in terms of the same investors of goods and
medicine such as in Unilever P&G and more. Having competitors with the same

a other products which is unique and native which it is intended to sell only on the said
Emporium City Mall such natives products in medicines and groceries.
On the other hand, the edge of Laps Dito, Laps Doon restaurant on its competitors is
that it serves Native delicious and presentable foods to the customers at a very
competitive price. The food products are being innovated by our well-trained chefs for
the customers to be attracted by its plating. Moreover, Emporium City Mall is not
worried about the similarities of products and services being offered of the Competitors
because company always seek to be up-to-date when it comes to the newest trend may
it be native or foreign products and by that the products are immediately introduced by
the Emporium City Mall in the market.
FUNCTIONALITY
The function of the Emporium City Mall (ECM) is generally to provide products and
services to those people who are in need particularly, foods served by The Laps Dito,
Laps Doon establishment, the medicines from Medicare drugstore and groceries from
the Cobbles store.
Since the aim of the mall is to provide amenity to our customers, there will be an area
for the car parking of our customers every time they’ll have their visit in the mall. The
Mall will be fully air-conditioned for a very good ambiance and comfort and there will be
escalators for the convenience of everyone.
since we have catering services in the Laps dito, laps doon restaurant, the products can
also be fulfilled through the use of mobile technology using cellular phones and landline
and for delivery of food products if they want to order even at home or wherever they
are.
There will also be staffs for maintenance in every aspects of the mall such as the
electricity, water supply, cleanliness of the mall and etc. for the better function of
everything inside the establishment.

PACKAGING
Medicare always assure that the packaging of products sell by the industry was safe
attractable to the eyes of the customers. Cobbles store and Medicare uses clear and
scannable fonts size in every brand names of each products which is easy to read and
understand and can add appeal to the potential customers. Also, the enterprise not just
focus only on its fonts size but it also focus on the design and label that is being printed
such as the information that can give guidance to the customers such as the following;
the products expiration date, the ingredients, the dosage, the nutritional facts tables,
the grams, the company name and the places where the products are being
manufactured and lastly is the hotline number or the page where the customers can

because the main important on this business venture was the Foods Platting. In
addition, in terms of the plating, the enterprise always assure that the plating should be
more beautiful and attractive to the eyes of the potential customers. Lastly, the
enterprise focuses also on the foods taste capacity in order to gain more customers to

good quality of the products to be sold.
However, the food products of the Laps dito, Laps Doon Restaurant’s quality are rest
assured since the vegetables and meats used as raw ingredients are freshly picked from
the ECM farm. The tools and equipment used as food processor are all in good condition
and regularly sanitized for the customers safety. The chef’s and cooks are all well-
trained to achieve the taste and meet the standard of our customers.
On the other hand, Medicare drug store will always provide medicines that are
subscripted by the specialists and a place that has a very good ambiance for the
customers. The pharmacist are all trained well and degree holder on being a pharmacist
to assure their better performance on duty. There will also be medicine volt for those
meds that in need of exact temperature for its better quality.
