Problem Statement :
Mr Raj Oberoi an engineering graduate from UK. Presently
he is thinking to start a chain of coffee shops in Indian
metro cities. He is not much aware of HR related aspects.
Suppose you are an HR consultant. He has approached to
you to help him in recruitment and selection and in
Orientation and Training program. In such case how will
you design recruitment and Selection, Orientation and
Training Program for Mr. Raj Oberoi.

The ABC coffee shop cannot recruit new
employees in a random manner, as it needs
careful planning and consideration of
different aspects.

ROUND 1- RESUME SHORTLISTING
A Resume is a document consisting of applicant’s skills,
experience, qualifications and hobbies. This document
will help to decide whether applicants match the
requirements of the particular job description.

ROUND 2- TEST
Tests would be conducted for some certain posts in
the coffee shop (chefs, cashiers)to check their skills.

ROUND 3- GROUP TASKS
Some Group tasks would be given to the selected
candidates to observe those who are leaders and those
who might work better on individual tasks. This round
will be mostly conducted for higher posts (Managers)
Selection
Process ROUND 4- PERSONAL INTERVIEW
This is usually a face-to-face meeting during which the
firm will ask a series of questions and observe how the
candidate answers them. The performance of each
candidate can be compared.

IDENTIFYING THE TRAINING NEEDS
For carrying out the program, first we will decide on company needs and then create the
plan accordingly so both sides can achieve their goals.

DEMONSTRATION OF THE JOB


Details of how every task is done correctly is where the employee will see exactly how
the task is done.

IDENTIFYING LEARNING OBJECTIVES


For each recruit adding separate learning objectives and some resources so they can
work towards their goal in the training program.

OBSERVATION
We will give the recruits a chance to show how the task is done. This will ensure
they can properly use the equipment necessary to perform their task.

SPOTTING THE RIGHT CANDIDATE FOR THE RIGHT POSITION:


Based on the performance of recruits of the aforementioned task given to them, we
will choose the right person for the right roles.
