Mandatory vaccinations do not violate basic human rights.

Before we get to the merits on why vaccines

do not violate basic human rights, we must first give merits on how credible vaccine research and its
implementations are.

First, those who have been researching about vaccines for covid are experts in their fields and have
undergone years of training and research in order for them to be competent in their fields. Most of
these are doctors, scientists, laboratory experts, and many more. Invalidating their research about covid
vaccines would invalidate almost the whole field.

Second, the statistical data of the application of the covid vaccines shows that the implementation of
the research done by these experts has a really high success rate with a very low mortality rate and also
a very low side effect rate. This shows that the data used by those anti vaxxers are close to insignificant
compared to how effective the vaccines are in giving us a fighting chance against the covid pandemic.

Third, the anti vaxxer communities use conspiracy theories that are too far-fetched to be possibly true.
These faux stories are exaggerations of the data collected by experts and are usually used in fear
mongering and for instilling traditional perspective onto people.

Given these statements, the logical move should be giving these vaccines to the people in order to
lessen and most likely, prevent the spread of the covid pandemic. This would reduce the risk of being
admitted to the hospital and most probably reduce the mortality rate in covid affected individuals.

This movement of the anti vaxxers serve as a danger to the health of our communities and to the health
of those who are most vulnerable to the covid pandemic. They would help in giving doubt and discredit
on credible research that could have helped lots of lives and families.

In the question regarding mandatory vaccinations violate basic human rights the answer is no. It does
not violate basic human rights since public health is more important than the personal choice of a
person. Choosing not to be vaccinated is one thing but that would also be considered as choosing to be
vulnerable in spreading the covid pandemic and that is harmful to the public health. It is stated in Article
II, Section 15 of the 1987 Constitution that the State shall protect and promote the right to health of
the people and instill health consciousness among them. This would prove that the State shall always
promote public health. Thus, personal choice or freedom will be disregarded whenever it would cause
harm to public health. Mandatory vaccinations would align to the protection of public health and would
not violate basic human rights. It is always the duty of the state to protect its people’s health and it has
the power to do so despite it would supersede several basic human rights.

It is also our duty as fellow citizens to protect our health and the health of others. Therefore, as
responsible citizens in our community, we should work together in fighting the pandemic and get
ourselves vaccinated.
