Our Education System has failed to deliver in Pakistan

Education system of Pakistan failed to deliver. Pakistan needs to revitalize its system of education to
overcome its social, political and economic woes.

3. Education system is the bedrock of politically, socially, economically developed nations.
4. Our education system is unable to harvest indigenous leadership in Pakistani political arena.
5. Pakistani Education system has not been successful in propagating democratic norms among masses
6. Education system remained unable to break perpetuating existing power structures in the state.
7. Pakistani educational institutions could not construct their own narrative to challenge socially
constructed taboos.
8. There is missing link between our education and knowledge-based economy even in the era of
neoliberalism.
9. Pakistani education could not propagate harmony and brotherhood to eradicate the menace of
extremism.
10. Pakistani education system is rather widening the gap between haves and have-nots instead of
narrowing.
11. Our Education system is unable to equip students with the tool of rationality, morality and
tolerance.
12. We need to redefine education as a tool for transformation; from education as a tool for
transmission.
13. There is an urgent need to revamp teacher education in Pakistan as per modern standards of
teaching.
14. Modern assessment techniques should be adopted to evaluate creativity and rationality of the
students.
15. It is need to restate the concept of ‘quality of education’ to the encompass broader concept of
quality.
16. Federal and provincial governments should have special focus on public sector institutions for
capacity building to compete with private sector.
17. A comprehensive and inclusive strategy is also required to avoid educational apartheid on the basis
of race, gender and class.
18. The agenda of educational improvement cannot be completed until we come up with a
comprehensive language policy with its deliverables.
19. There has always been a gap between commitment and implementation of state policies, so policy
should include a detailed action plan with timeline and accountability.
