Signal Abbreviations

The signal abbreviations used within the Control Specifications and the Elementary are presented
in the following table:

Hardware Physical Type Reference
A Current
B Bearing Vibration
C Compressor Clearance
D Driven Load Differential Pressure
E Electrical (Expect D)
F Fuel Frequency
G Governor / Control Stress
H Frequency Hertz
I Intercooler Impact Pressure
J
K Combustion Constant
L Lube Force
M Extractions Miscellaneous
N Inlet Air Nozzle Speed
O
P Starting Device / Turning Gear Static Pressure
Q (Buffers) Volume or Wt. Flow
R Regenerator Constant or Variable Control
Reference (Set Point)
S Station Stroke (Position)
T Turbine Temperature
U
V Volts
W Water Watts
X Exhaust Ratio
Y
Z (Local Signals)

The following examples illustrate the use of these signal abbreviations to generate signal names:

FSR - Fuel Stroke Reference

TNR - Turbine Speed Reference

In order to provide the Signal Names with more flexibility and more exact definitions, additional
characters are used as follows:

FSKSUWU - Fuel Stroke Constant, Start-up, Warm-up

TNKR7 - Turbine Speed Constant Reference 7, where this is one of many that can affect TNR.
TTKSPL2 - Turbine Temperature Constant Spread Limit 2, where this constant is used in
exhaust temperature spread calculations.
