Discover
This package offers powerful advanced monitoring features for monitoring of the system data via ETAP’s
intelligent one-line diagram. PSMS Advanced Monitoring combines intelligent monitoring with state-of-
the-art data processing, reconciliation, and filtering for the purpose of calculating and estimating missing
states and bad metering data.

Vanguard
This package integrates advanced monitoring with the capability to record and playback the complete
picture of the electrical system from stored data events. This includes playback of previously recorded
monitored data, calculated system parameters, event sequences, and message logs. PSMS Vanguard is
especially useful to facility operators and engineers to investigate root cause and effect, improve system
operations, explore alternative actions, and replay “What If” scenarios.

Imperious
PSMS Imperious includes a wide range of user-definable on-line controls that interact with third party
control/switching devices. This is like adding PC-based processors/controllers or simple breaker
interlocks to any part of the system by means of the software.

Optimus
PSMS Optimus is especially useful for generation plants and industrial facilities with in-house generation.
For power producers, Optimus can be utilized to minimize generation fuel cost, optimize system
operation, regulate power exchange and/or maximize system security. PSMS optimization algorithms can
be utilized to assist energy consumers to optimize their system operation by minimizing system losses,
reducing peak load consumption, and/or minimizing control adjustments. This package offers both
Supervisory and Advisory Control functions. Supervisory Control mode provides automatic
implementation of recommended settings to achieve continuous optimum system operation. Advisory
Control mode allows the systems operator to implement the PSMS recommendations.

Ultimus
This package is primarily utilized in networks where loss of system load and generation is critical and
costly. The highlight of this package is the Intelligent Load Shedding (ILS) module. PSMS Ultimus
provides optimum dynamic load shedding which reduces costs and increases system reliability.
