to be regularized basically to achieve job-security but at present, this is still a challenge for most
of its employees.

Copyright is a legal right that grants anyone’s work exclusive rights for use and distribution.
Efforts to prevent the reproduction of ABS-CBN films, music, and other media has been devised
so that no one will gain benefit from the locally grown materials/outputs that has been
accomplished by the company’s people who have worked hard for it.
 SLOW INTERNET SERVICE IN THE PHILIPPINES
Limited cellular data networks negatively affect customer’s experience. It greatly upsets
customers who may want to watch video-on-demand through their computers or mobile phones.

video stream accordingly.

Questions:
1. Who develops the SWOT? Explain why.

 Albert Humphrey
SWOT analysis was invented in the 1960s by a management consultant named Albert Humphrey
at the Stanford Research Institute. Previously, corporate planning had not met with much
success. Fortune 500 companies needed a way to produce long-term planning that was
executable and reasonable. Humphrey and his research team proposed the SWOT model to bring
accountability and objectivity to the planning process, and it has been popular ever since.

2. When do you develop a SWOT analysis, and what is its purpose?

How and when to use SWOT analysis effectively

The overall understanding of your business’ strengths and weaknesses, combined with
the threats and opportunities of your marketplace put you in a significantly better position
to take positive action. Without the SWOT analysis it can be extremely difficult to
identify areas for change, set clear performance goals and develop an action plan to stay
ahead of the competition.

Using your SWOT analysis, it’s possible to justify a business decision that’s already been
decided upon. It’s also a step forward to creating a robust strategy to build upon your
existing strengths and industry opportunities.

Arguably, the most common reasons for using SWOT analysis are:

 Identify new solutions to existing business issues

 Pinpoint new potential barriers to current business objectives
 Agree on the next direction for your business to take
 Discover possibilities and limitations for change
 As a means of brainstorming business ideas and better understanding the
competition
 As a means of better informing key stakeholders
 Once you develop business strategies to minimize your weaknesses and
maximize your strengths and opportunities, be sure to regularly review them
internally. Agility is the key to ensuring your company recognizes its assets
and flaws in a positive fashion.

3. Explain the process in conducting a SWOT analysis.

 Decide on the objective of your SWOT analysis.

 Research your business, industry and market.
 List your business's strengths.
 List your business's weaknesses.
 List potential opportunities for your business.
 List potential threats to your business.
 Establish priorities from the SWOT.
 Develop a strategy to address issues in the SWOT
