“NOONG AKO AY BATA PA”

MY CHILDHOOD

I asked my mom how I was when I was a child. She started telling me some stories that she
would never forget. That was when my sister and I always fought. She told me that we always
pinch each other until none of us gets a wound, and we also pull each other's hair, and we will
not let go if neither of us won’t let go. She also told me a story when I was in kindergarten that I
was a "Bibo" kid that after I take my exam, I will tell the answers to my seatmate. After telling
these stories, we were both laughing, and little did I know that my childhood was funny,
interesting, and unforgettable.

 How was the experience of asking about your childhood?

It was fun. Because I have looked back on my past, which I always wanted to go back
to. Also, I was able to see my mom’s priceless smile and laugh.

 Do you miss those childhood days?

Absolutely, yes. I miss those childhood days of mine wherein I don’t have any heavy
problems like what I have now.

 What do you miss the most?

It was the first time I'd thought about how active I am when it comes to playing and
fighting with my cousins and friends. No worries, no huge responsibilities, and no
heartaches. I just wish that I could go back to those days.

 What is your message to the young version of yourself?

To the young version of myself, I just want you to know that you had such an
amazing childhood. Thank you for being such a beautiful and a cheerful little girl.
Thank you for giving me a lot of good memories that I can look back whenever I feel
lost. You’ve given me a lot of reasons to smile and to remember those people who are
no longer here with me. Also, I want to apologize for making you cry for the little
things that are not worthy of your tears. I know that you enjoyed your life as a child
and that’s all that matters. Thank you for making me the person who I am today.
