TROUBLESHOOTING/ PROBLEM
The crucial problem that we faced during field trip at Kampung Fikri Setiu and Tasik
Berombak Setiu was poor time management. We took a very long time to decide the
suitable location or site to deploy all trap. Beside that we waste a lot of our energy
carrying the traps to nowhere as no suitable location have been decided.
The other critical problem was limited number of trap. There are only 30 cage trap
available for our research, those number of cage trap does enough to cover our
study site as we also have to divide those cage trap into canopy and understory
level, means that there only 15 cage trap at each level. The problem become worse
as there are few number of cage trap that do not operate perfectly (the door does
not closed completely, there are still have a space for the animal to escape) and in a
bad condition.
Whereas for the parasite collections problem, there just a few sample of feces that
have been manage to collect.
IMPROVEMENT
We have to survey and decide the suitable location before deploy any trap, this will
prevent the waste of time and energy for carrying the heavy trap. Tag or mark the
decided area with caution tape and have to make sure that it visible and easy to
track. Should buy and bring the machetes to clear the trail and make easier to
access the study site. Divide the task among the group. The gastrointestinal track of
host specimen will examine for the endoparasite.
