A GLOBAL CITIZEN

Traveling around the world or even across the nation is a great way to
discover new things. When we travel, it gives us the best experience to learn about new
culture, traditions, and new people. It foster our minds to build human connection with
one another. Given a chance to share a place I have visited, one place that comes to
my mind is the province of Bohol.
Bohol’s landscapes and green and its blue seascapes are what would
capture your heart. They value festival and feast days as part of their culture. The
people of Bohol are outgoing, generous, and religious. These characteristics pushes
people to have festivals in addition to the yearly veneration of saints in their individual
towns and barangays throughout the province. I also observed Boholanos shows
hospitable behavior as they welcome everyone in their homes every fiestas. Similarly
how Rizal did in his travels, he also observed people’s behavior and culture and tried to
adopt the way people live their day to day lives. He tried to understand how every
country or places has different culture and traditions. Moreover, travelling can help an
individual’s mind to be broad and distinguish cultures from what we have grown up. We
can learn how to respect and appreciate the differences of our culture. As a future
architect, structures also gives a huge impact in travelling and remembering remarkable
places. We can know the different architectural styles and distinguish their culture thus
can be applied in designing a building to create a better place. These structures are so
powerful that it can built environment that must give engagements to its people.
Certainly, travelling can be a great help in broadening our minds and
gives us the best experience in learning new things. It can let us learn to appreciate
different culture and respect them, and perhaps, learn their culture’s similarity to the
ones we have grown up. Travelling can be a therapeutic to our minds and brings a new
opportunities with a fresh perspective in your life.
