Global warming has been one of our biggest issue then and now in our society. .

This

problem is caused by us, people and its effect is courage by the decreased number of

trees. People cut trees with out even planting a new one. And Trees growth takes so

much time but cutting it only takes couple of minutes. And that results to the elimination

of trees.

So, The Plantable Pencil were able to make an alternative for that.

Product

The pencil has a gelatin like capsule on its top on where the eraser was supposed to

be placed. So, when the pencil is too short already to be used. The plantable pencil

gives it a new life. The capsule on its top has a seed that whenever the pencil is already

too short you could plant its remain rather than just throwing it out. Our products

undertake initiatives to promote greater environmental responsibility and sustainability.

By through this product we will be able to create a more sustainable world, not just that

it promotes creativity and art but also for the betterment of our world.

Our customer are on age 13-29 years old which the majority are students.

Prices will range from 40-60 php per piece depending on its variety and way of

distributing and since our customers are mainly students, young adults and

environmentalists we expected them to be price conscious, so that’s why we are also

offering discounts on bundle purchase.

Place/Distribution
It will be distributed at any different brands of craft tools, arts or

recreational stores, can be sold as a wholesale or retail through physical store

and online/virtual store (can be shipped).

Mass marketing; media advertisement – social or traditional media,

distributing of leaflets

COMPANY

Strength

Could help environment; useful to artists or anyone whole likes/most likely

to use pencil. It only require a small amount of money to invest for a great purpose. It

uses recycled materials which can be found anywhere so it environmental friendly.

Weakness

Quantity of pencil buyers is not too many and are not sure, quantity to be

produced will depend on varieties of seeds and other resources ( which can be

limited). We don’t have funds yet to support or get right and proper equipment’s

and machine to make such product faster and close to perfection.

Opportunity

Potential new users of product and/or services, environmental local/global

events, promotes environmental change/lifestyle. Reasonable price for a

sustainable product. There’s a lot of paper waste.

THREATS

Less knowledge of products, decrease on traditional way of drawing

process in the future due to the advancement/enhanced technology(less use of


pencil), less care to the environment. High caliber competitors. Environmental

threats such as inflation (applied on other materials or resources used).

CONTEXT

Political Factor

According, to the House Bill 8728 or the "Graduation Legacy for the Environment Act"

which imposes that every students who will graduate should first plant 10 trees as

requirement of their graduation. This could ultimately shift the students demand for the

product as means and easy alternative for an actual sapling, this could be our

oppurtunity to promote the product with the help of DENR and other NGO’s and

government who wants to improve our environment. However, tax and higher

transportation expenses from various regions could affect the price of the product

depending on the LGUs policy on importation.

Economics

A rising inflation and price hikes due to the TRAIN law which is still uncertain that it

could affect the pricing of the product, can shift the demand of the consumers to find a

cheaper alternative and competitors we have. And with the higher unemployment rate,

and material prices due to taxes, the production can be very costly.

Social

Potential markets online and also retailers and other form of distribution online is the

efficient way to distribute the product. According to Megan DeGruttola, future

influencers in social media will be the organic influencers which means that we can also

fit in to those market. But however, the trust factor of trust in social media Marketing is

still low.

Technological
Our lack of equipment could be a hindrance for the mass production of the product. If

we have more equipment’s, we could mass produce our product fast and efficiently.

COLLABORATOR

In partnership with our suppliers, sponsors and investors we will always strive to provide
and establish a good relationship and prove them that we are worthy of their time,
efforts and money. Perhaps, we will also maintain a good communication and
relationship towards our partnered channels, shops and/or company.
COMPETITORS

we have various competitors from the industry like the mongol pencil, faber-castel, and the pencil from
eco hub. But what makes our product unique is that it is made out of recycled paper and it also has
plantable seeds on top.

MARKETING MIX

These days, intercultural communication has been rapidly growing, especially in the country, our
goal is to introduce the product in a market that can allow people to interact with one another and
acknowledge culture diversity. With the help of socially inclined market promotional activities, it
will be best to make use of current technology we have today such as advertisements in social
media, specifically Facebook and Twitter.
We will also advertise our product through leaflets or flyers. Since our product is somewhat

not new to some other customers, we will incorporate additional features like bundle

pricing. And Pursuing a bundle pricing strategy allows you to increase your profit by

using a discount to induce customers to buy more than they otherwise would have.

2 IMC Strategy

We will be using Inbound and Outbound marketing strategy to grab the attention of

customers online, and outside the web.

Our promotional strategies involves phases. The introduction phase, the stabilization

phase, and the enhancement phase.

Introduction Phase

In the introduction phase, we can only utilize small amount of money in our promotions.

So, we’ll use the social media such as facebook, Instagram, or twitter, etc. Then the

distribution of fliers with discount upon the first month of release of supply.

Stabilization Phase

If we have managed to expand our operation and be able to maintain the number of

supplies supplied or the number of sales. We will start investing on paid advertisements

(on social media or on traditional media) or with a collaboration with influencers.

Enhancement Phase

If we manage to maintain such amount of customer or supply and our market is

increasing then we will proceed to the enhancement phase on which we will allocate our

money to higher cost promotions and enhancement of product and finally to build own

store together with other company partners.
