There has been a debate over religiousity and spirituality. Can religous be spiritual or can spiritual be
religous? But in the first place what does religion and spirituality means? Religion is a set religious
beliefs that was conceptualized in two orientation. The Intrinsic in which means the source of truth
and Extrinsic which also means to connect with other religious individuals that was formed through
community with the same beliefs and practices towards recognizing a higher being. Thus, spirituality
was also seen as the faith to a higher being. It was said as an experience beyond self- consciousness
or with the higher being and a practice done through a more private or personal level. But through the
years religion and spirituality really long before treated as a separate constructs. However, they are
really not completely different. Moreover, i believe that spirituality can exist without a religion since it
is done through a direct and more personal way. And so does religion can survive without spirituality
depending as how their practices are. It may come to a lot of arguments or debates but it just based
or depends on the practice or beliefs that they've used in.

In addition, in a study shown in the chapter as an example, shows that Filipino's are generally
religious even from their childhood until they are already adult. And since, we, Filipino's are known to
be religious, in which mostly are also spiritual. Other people may not consistently participate to a
religious gathering like a mass in the church or other social religious practices but we are also
spiritual as we do praise and worship the way we wanted to be in a more personal or private way.
Like how we always try to find a way to know our God more and and be guided by his holy
righteousness. To find peace, love, strengths and motivation for our everyday lives.

Our religiousity might be changed depending on which religion where we find the true meaning,
enlightenment and serenity and God as it is. Our practices might change but i believe, the way how
we talk and praise our God is through with the connection of our spirituality. What ever religion you
may be in but by simply just talking to God in a quite and private way like how you talk God with your
mind and heart is a from of our spirituality. It may look different or not but it just really depends on
what you believe in.
