1. Why it is said that Filipino Philosophy is a blend between the East and West?

- Because of colonization, the Filipino culture is said to be a mix of east and west.
The Filipino persona is a mix of various cultures. Filipinos were claimed to be of Malay
ancestors, and that the “Bayanihan”, or sense of kindship, and the camaraderie for which they
are known came from Malay progenitors. The tight family ties are supposed to have been
passed down from Chinese ancestors. The Spaniards who colonized the Philippines converted
to Christianity and brought their religious zeal with them. Filipino’s English skills was also
influenced by Americans.

Make a collage about the different Filipino Values.

1. How does philosophy define man’s relationship with the environment?
2. How do philosophical views influence environmental action?

1. The philosophic is about seeing realistically what can and can’t be realistically asserted. It establishes a
relationship with another individual, and they learn about their own personal ability to form their own
philosophy toward others.

2. Humans make the decisions to use nature for their own and society’s benefit. Apart from hunting, human
activities such as pollution and deforestration have resulted in the extinction of a huge number of animals
and plants due to habitat lost.
