Greeting card

1. The definition of Greeting Card

Greeting Card is a short text in the form of message consisting of prayer and hope.

2. The purpose of Greeting card

 To congratulate someone’s achievement
 To express sympathy to someone
 To motivate someone in achieving achievement

3. The Structure of greeting Card

 Receiver (Penerima) – To whom is he card addressed. Biasanya letaknya di pojok atas kiri surat,
to……, dear…, to my beloved…, jika penerimanya bernama Budi, maka to Budi, dear Budi.
 Body – there’s some content in the body:
- Quote: Kutipan atau harapan si pengirim yang berhubungan dengan peristiwa atau hari
spesial.
- Picture: Ilustrasi gambar yang berhubungan dengan peristiwa atau hari spesial.
- Expression : Ucapan selamat (congratulation expressions) atau ucapan simpati (Sympathy
Expression)
 Sender (Pengirim) – the sender of the card. Biasanya letaknya di pojok bawah kanan surat,
from……, your best friend …, jika pengirimnya bernama Toni, maka from Toni, your best
friend, Toni.

 Happy/Consolation (Selamat atau Turut Berbahagia)
- Congratulations!
- Happy birthday!
- Happy father’s day!
- Happy anniversary!
- Congratulations for winning the competition!
 Sympathy/Condolence (Simpati atau Turut Berduka)
- I am sorry for your loss.
- I am sorry to hear that.
- We are deeply sorry for the loss of …..
