Instructions: Choose your favorite line/s from your favorite show or book then identify
Analysis what is the category of that line/s in illocutionary act.
-We can respond and have an effective communication by knowing the 3 types of it which is
locutionary, illocutionary and perlocutionary. Speech act also is our everyday used in terms
of interacting. Through this we will know whether the person is suggesting, asking,
promising, thanking, or blessing. In that way we can easily know and respond to them
according to the speaker’s said.
In this video I will explain the examples of each type of speech act. This include the
locutionary, illocutionary and perlocutionary. The example of locutionary is PLEASE DO THE
DISHES it is an act of saying something came from speaker. The illocutionary is PLEASE DO
THE DISHES because the speaker request the addressed to washed the dishes. And the
perlocutionary act of that is, I DO THE DISHES because this is the result and I respond to the
speaker request.
