President Rodrigo Roa Duterte’s speech in 76th Anniversary of

the United Nations (September 22, 2021)

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte joining the 76th Anniversary of the United
Nations on September 22, 2021 states in his speech about COVID-19 vaccine
inequality and injustice, Multilateralism, the situation of migrant Filipino
workers, and UN High Commissioner on Refugees. He stated also last year of
August  that the poor tries to reach up with the rich people, whereas there is
no chance and they can't succeed on follow up them and they decided to
change this kind of mind set or opinions about poor people and he said that
as the Governments they must restore their obligations and responsibilities to
the Filipino Citizens. President Duterte speaks up that the distribution of the
COVID-19 vaccines have inequity and injustice, whereas that the rich
countries have more vaccines to their people while the poorest countries
whose really needed to be vaccinated, so President Duterte stating this fact
because the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths here in the
Philippines are higher  and the vaccines are not enough for the
Filipino Citizens, also to the other poorest countries. Just to have enough
vaccines we really need to wait  for a couple of months or years before they
will give or donate vaccines against COVID-19. In my opinion it is really unfair
and where is the justice on that, the poorest countries look pitiful and awful.
The UN must take action to resolve this issue. Even if the countries United
states of America and China donated vaccines in the Philippines still it is not
enough to all Filipino Citizens to be fully vaccinated. And we are still hoping
for the fast recovery of our nations in COVID-19 pandemic. 

 President Duterte states that Multilateralism is a solution to the Global

Economy to be strengthened and to be developed . I agree in this kind of
solution that President Duterte said because multilateralism helps build good
relationships or partnerships with other countries, and serves to connect and
form an alliance to powerful nations or countries, for example it can give us
benefits like global public goods such as donating COVID-19 vaccines,
medical equipments , import and export of different kinds of goods or products
and services in our country Philippines and also to other poor/developing
countries. We must be fair, equal, and respectful with one another to achieve
or to have a good alliance with powerful countries. Next is  the Migrant of
Filipino Workers, whereas Filipino Workers need to be protected and secured
from inhumane and abusive acts of their bosses and stop making Filipino
Workers feel embarrassed, being slaves and suffering. For example, there are
some cases in the Middle East where most Filipino workers experience
difficulties, abuse, deaths and sufferings, like I am just thinking why do they
experience these kinds of situations? They are just working for the sake of
providing for their families needs and wants, especially in this time of
pandemic, where most of us experience difficulties and crises in life, I feel pity
on them and sad that I keep on imagining or wondering of what they feel,
what they have experience by just working in that kind state and because of
that President Duterte banned workers from migrating to Kuwait pending an
investigation in to the deaths of seven Filipino workers .The Kafala System,
also called a monstrous system needs to be destroyed because this system
made Filipino Workers to suffer and desperate to claim their rights and justice.
We need to protect and justify the rights of every Filipino worker abroad, they
really need to respect them, they must treat Filipino workers equally or good
and not treat them like slaves.

The last issue is the UN High Commissioner on Refugees that the Rohingya
suffer from violence and discrimanation in Myanmar that created a refugee
crisis, whereas most Rohingya beaten and thrown into fires, and result to the
Rohingya to flee in other country which is Bangladesh just to avoid the
Myanmar's Rakhine. Mr. President said that they really need to unite to save
and resolve this issue peacefully. And also President Duterte wants to ensure
the peace, security and prosperity of the South China Sea. To avoid conflict
and misunderstandings with China. These Global Economic issues will be
resolved if all the nations will act, protect, defend, and help each other to
solve these Global Economic issues, so that we can live in peace, prosperity
and be secured. The United Nations must rebuild and strengthen their
organization. In addition, all countries must unite, understand, love and help
one another so that we can fight and resolve this problem or issues in our
world.
