What are the difference between GIF and JPEG and when to use them?
JPEG and GIF are both types of image formats for storing images. JPEG uses a
lossy compression algorithm and the image may lose some of its data. It’s also not a good
idea to edit and save a file as a JPEG multiple times, as the image quality will decrease each
time you save.
GIF uses a no -lossy compression algorithm and no loss of image data is present in
GIF format. GIF images support animation and transparency
Use JPEG if your graphic uses a high number of colors, it uses gradients or
contains photographic elements, It make your photos small enough to share easily
over the internet, but still retain fairly high image quality.
What are the difference between GIF and PNG and when to use them?
GIF and PNG both are a type of image format to store images. GIF and PNG
both are pixel-based image formats. Both uses lossless compression algorithms and
supports transparency. GIF images support animation as well.

What are the difference between JPEG and PNG and when to use them?
There are several formats to choose from in saving to digital copy. Each
format has its own strengths and weaknesses, and choosing the right format can be
a huge advantage. Two of these formats are JPEG and PNG. The main difference
between JPEG and PNG is the compression algorithm they use. JPEG uses a lossy
compression algorithm that removes some image information to reduce the file size.
In comparison, PNG uses a lossless algorithm that stores all the information. With
PNG, the image quality will not change, but the file size is usually larger. On the
other hand, JPEG images can be made very small, but the quality can deteriorate
quickly from a certain point.
There are major applications that are both suitable, JPEG is widely used, and
accordingly, in photos. This is because photos tend to have smooth transitions
between colour and tone. JPEG also provides excellent compression with little or no
loss in image quality which is seen reducing the size to one -tenth of the size you
would get if you used lossless compression such as PNG. With PNG, it is used
mostly when creating or altering images such as cartoons and other unrealistic
images. For example, a background image that contains one colour can be
compressed by PNG into a very small size because the pixel content is the same.
Another feature of JPG that makes it better for photos is its ability to embed
EXIF. EXIF contains information related to the image such as when or where it was
captured, colour profile and the like. This information can be very helpful to the
photographer when browsing or editing his images. PNG cannot embed EXIF, but it
has the ability to make image areas transparent. Transparency is required if you
want to display images of objects in different backgrounds. Many websites use
transparency to make their pages look more attractive to viewers.
What are the difference between JPEG compare to BMP and TIFF and when to
use them?
BMP and TIFF are relatively older image formats created with their respective
advantages. BMP is an image that has a large size, but with the ZIP technology, it
does not affect the quality of the image file TIFF is an image format that is popularly
used by professionals working in the graphic arts, photography and publishing
industries. One of its biggest benefits is its sheer flexibility, which allows users to
manage images and data in the same file. It also supports both lossy and lossless
compression, empowering creatives with a lot of freedom when working with it. The
comparison is that JPEG it is flexible, which can enlarge the image size and reduce
the size by sacrificing its image quality. BMP and TIFF format files are
uncompressed bitmapped images, while those with a JPG format are compressed
digital images. JPG images, being easily downloadable, are preferred over BMP
TIFF images for web use and BMP and TIFF images are of a higher quality than
JPG images.
JPEG are bitmap formats. A bitmap is really just a series of pixels or very
small dots. Each pixel is a tiny square that’s been assigned a colour, then put
together in a pattern to create an image. When we zoom on a bitmap closely
enough, we will even be able to see the individual pixels. Using a BMP in our design
project is a good idea when working with colour gradations and When working with
images you’ll alter.
TIFF is popular in desktop publishing and photography projects. This is
because, in and of itself, TIFF does not use compression technology. As a result, it
doesn’t degrade the quality of images every time we edit them. When the time is
right to use TIFF, is when working with high-quality scan and When working with
high-quality print graphics.
