JOB DESCRIPTION
Position Title: Management Trainee for Sales & Marketing Level: L4
Reporting to: Mentor Work Location: Rotational
Full Time FTE Contractual

About HFCL
Established in 1987, HFCL Limited specializes in supply & Manufacturing of optical fibre cables, intelligent power
systems, selected telecommunication equipment, WiFi R&D, 5G Business and Project Implementation of
sophisticated telecom networks, city security & surveillance and Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS).
The Company’s activities cover the entire value chain from the manufacturing of leading edge telecommunication
products to implementation of telecommunication networks.
We have implemented several Greenfield projects, including the setting up of CDMA & GSM Networks, 4G
network rollout for Reliance Jio, Satellite communications, Ludhiana Safe City & Traffic Management ,wireless
spectrum management and DWDM optical transmission network.
The Company has now ventured into project implementation of telecom networks for Defence and Railways &
secured seven licenses for manufacturing defence equipment.
Company has a country-wide presence with over 2000 employees and is listed on BSE & NSE.

Job Purpose
Management Trainee hired from campus shall undergo 1 year rotational training program, as a part of MT
Spark Program. The 1 year training comprises of 2 weeks Induction, 1 week Behavioural/Functional Training
program, 2 Weeks Plant visit, 2 projects of 2 months each and on-the-job training for 7 months to take up
specific role. During their 4 months rotational training, they will be rotated among different functions as per
business requirements.
Organization has a larger perspective for the management trainee programme. The Management Trainee is
given in-depth exposure of various functions including the core functions. The MT is required to work on
given strategic and operational projects, which are Important for the success of the various functions across
organization. On successful completion of 1 year training, MTs shall be inducted as Manager.

Key Responsibilities
 Network Product Sales
o Pre-sales – To understand and shadow the Vertical Head to identify opportunities and assist in
the elaboration of technical solutions to meet the client’s requirements. To help analyse technical
needs, business requirements and bundle solutions.
o Channel, Distribution & SI Sales – To understand and shadow the Vertical Head to drive the
business through Distributors and channel Partners in the region. Working along with RSMs to
identify reliable distributors/ channel partner, manage dealers, plan & implement various brand
building activities for sales & territory, strategize new product launch, product positioning and
brand management by developing strong relationships with key decision makers.
o Government, PSU & Large Accounts (Large enterprises / customers who have larger geographical
coverage & presence (non-Telco & ISP)) – To understand and shadow the Vertical Head to help
nurture and manage these key accounts and build up on further opportunities by planning &
implementing various brand building activities for sales expansion & territory expansion,
promoting new products & services. Working with key decision makers to strategize new product
launch, product Positioning and brand management to promote strong relationships.
oTelco ISP Sales – (selling to the Telco - who are Large customers - ISPs are locally based in
respective regions) - To understand and shadow the Vertical Head to plan and implement various
brand building activities for sales expansion and territory expansion, promoting new products &
services. Working with key decision makers to strategize new product launch, product Positioning
and brand management to promote strong relationships.
 Marketing – Working with the Vertical Head in the following key areas:
o Social Media Marketing – To understand and shadow the develop, implement and manage our
social media strategy through competitive and audience research. Manage social media
content, monitor SMM (social media marketing) and user engagement, and suggest content
optimization.
o Graphics Designing – To understand and shadow creation of business graphic content – essential
business materials – PPTs, business cards, internal and external communications through the use
of Infographics, Videos and other appealing design tools.
o Social Media & Digital Events

The incumbent, basis his/her interest level and strengths would be placed in one of the verticals post training
under the vertical head / respective vertical team.

Qualification

BE + MBA (Marketing) with 0-3 years work experience
