HOME

I, honestly do not own much memory of travels and trips in my life, because my
mother was not really into letting me go outside with friends or even by myself. I once
went to Baguio City, to attend a girl scout scheme, I actually went around the whole
CALABARZON, joining contests, specifically in literature and that’s it. I had never ridden
in an airplane or a shipping vessel to go to a faraway destination. Nothing is different
with that, pleasure is normal. However, one thing is for sure, the most unforgettable trip
of my life is when I rode a jeepney to come back home. Its the most peaceful time I got
to realize everything about life.

Before the pandemic, when everybody is used to going to school, “when

everything is normal,” I felt like I am so near to my dreams, and I can just hold it with my
palms. I think it’s the feeling of happiness that I’m doing things that I like, and at the
same time being a responsible student and a child.

I really miss the trip of going to school, waking up at dawn, hearing the noise of
chickens, just like how a normal student goes to school. With friends going to the library,
talking to each other endlessly and when it’s time to go home, it’s the best feeling. I will
see my parents again and rest like there is no tomorrow. Yet we call darkness and its
time for it to reign humanity. Covid 19 strikes heavily and affects every one of different
social status.

But it was the pathway of LCC near the church, people were scattered, busy, and
are also on their way to go home. With friends, we ate tusok-tusok, and then say our
goodbyes, leaving each other with smiles. Then, in the street side, I was there, thinking
about life. There are not many details to my unforgettable journey, but the learnings
were there. I realize that life for many is short, and no one can have the life that I have
right now. My future is already in my hand, all I have to do is to make it happen. I am
sure that I still have more trips to come and coming back home is my favorite.
