REFLECTIVE ESSAY

RONALD B. ALVAREZ ACCOUNTING FIRM

LIPA CITY COLLEGES

AIZIEL D. ORENSE

From the very beginning, I never thought of myself working in an office because I
found it dull, anxious and lonesome to deal with, but who knows the finale.? In my first
day of the 600-hours internship program as part of my college requirements, I am glad
to be heartfully welcome in Ronald B. Alvarez Accounting Firm. We introduced
ourselves and get familiar with heads, supervisors, and employees. Honestly, I found it
interesting to communicate with people already having the end goal of my degree- CPA.
I am a hands-on person, I always want to do things which I learn a lot and will
make me a better person, yet I was kind of unhappy to see myself doing scanning all
day, organizing papers and writing dates which I think is really unbeneficial. There goes
weeks and time flies so fast, I think that this office is helping me to realize more for
myself. My supervisors are now giving us thriving tasks that are really connected to my
degree. Filing BIR forms online, extracting TRRC, doing QAP and SLSP, and my most
favorite part is having a field day, where we stand as auditors who went to clients places
and do our job. Its always my mind which continuously asking questions of how this
papers work, why do we do this, what makes this necessary and all that.
Actually, when I first went in here, I don’t want to take the licensure examination
for accountancy because I always find it hard to overcome. For me, its not just about a
day, week or months of perseverance but a lifetime responsibility to deal with.
Nevertheless, this internship makes me realize the standard to be successful. Its always
yourself to manage and discipline. Its always your work to love and your passion to
prosper. As Steve Jobs quoted “The only way to do great work is to love what you do. If
you haven’t found it yet, keep looking. Don’t settle. As with all matters of the heart, you’ll
know when you find it.”
I have been so much grateful to experience this 600-hours internship opportunity
at Ronald B. Alvarez accounting firm. Along with that, I will never forget this experience
of being an accountant in real workspace. My warmest gratitude to everyone who
helped me finish this and to myself who has been strong from the very first day.
