Items Yes No
Safety and Precautionary Measures
1. Proper attire is worn (long pants and closed toe shoes).
2. Food and drinks are stored and consumed outside the lab.
3. Laboratory coat, gloves and safety glasses are worn.
Setting up the Equipment
4. Student gathers all the necessary equipment before starting.
5. Student makes sure that the equipment used such as burette,
burette stand, multiple beakers, and Erlenmeyer flask.
6. Student measures the amount of analyte and quantity of titrant
before the titration starts.
7. Student cleans and rinses all the glassware.
8. Student fills the burette with an excess amount of titrant.
9. Student taps the burette to remove any air bubbles in conducting
titration.
Conducting of Titration
10. Student measures out a precise amount of analyte in a clean
beaker or flask.
11. Student drops a small amount of color indicator into the beaker.
12. Student adds the second chemical or buffer, if necessary.
13. Student agitates the beaker using a magnetic stir plate
14. Student places the beaker under the burette.
15. Student slowly open the stopcock so that the titrant drips out of
the burette.
16. Student reaches the endpoint of their titration activity
Finishing the Analysis
17. Student disposes the chemicals used in a labeled waste
container.
18. Student cleans the glassware by rinsing them with water.
19. Student calculates the concentration of the titrand accurately.
20. Student turn over the laboratory equipments and apparatuses in
the right place.
