ASSESSMENT
1. What do you think the most common hazard encountered in the offices? Why? Discuss your answer 10 pts.
- Electricity is one of the most common hazards that an offices encountered because xposure to
electrical live parts can result in serious injuries and fatalities, including electric shocks, burns,
explosions and falls from height. The risk is increased in wet conditions, where a worker’s
equipment and surroundings can also become live. Fires also is included because we all know
every workplace is at risk of fire. However, some workplaces are at an increased risk – either due
to the work activities or types or employees/residents. Offices that carry out hot work, food
manufacturers and restaurants. Fires can be devastating, both to the organization and to the
people impacted, they can cause serious injuries, such as burns, asphyxiation and fatalities.

2. Create a sample scenario of activity in the workplace and describe how you apply the hierarchy of
environmental controls? 10 pts.
- Example Scenario of activity is by simply following Covid-19 health protocols and preventive
measures to prevent the transmission of the deadly virus. To which in the first-place managers or
safety professionals locate workplace dangers and assess their risks, safety professionals
examine the materials in a work environment, such as cleaning supplies and equipment, and the
safety of the work environment itself. Following analysis, safety experts develop protective
interventions that prevent health hazards. This involves establishing guidelines, procedures and
policies that control hazards. It also involves creating educational materials and communicating
with workers about how to stay safe.

3. As criminology student of Initao College, how would you influence your community to work safely? 10pts.
- We cannot influence others if we do not start disciplining ourselves to work safety. By doing what
is right and just to make the people secure and safe, by being their role model, that can possibly
be one factor to influence my community to work safely.

ASSESSMENT

1. Why policy of the organization is very important? Explain your answer. (10 pts)
- Policies and procedures are an essential component of any organization. Policies address
pertinent issues, such as what constitutes acceptable behavior by employees. Procedures clearly
define a sequence of steps to be followed in a consistent manner, such as how the organization
will respond to any policy violations.

2. Discuss the aim of OHS Legislation of the Philippines according to the Department of Labor and
Employment (DOLE) under the Labor Code of the Philippines (LCP)? (10 pts)
- The State shall ensure a safe and healthful workplace for all working people by affording
them full protection against all hazards in their work environment. This just mean that
every organizations, company and establishment should follow standard protocols to
ensure the every employee in the workplace and every lives in an establishment. That is
why before a proprietor can operate his/her business or an open an establishment there
should be an assurance of the safety of all the individuals that will be present in such
place.
