I. Simple Text Formatting

Requirement: Type the below text into your document.

Microsoft Word, one part of the Microsoft Office suite, is a word processor developed by
Microsoft. Besides typing text, the users can easily insert special characters into the paragraph
such as “” in order to make the text more vivid.

The users can highlight the text and click the B (Bold) symbol to make the text bold (Or use the
Ctrl + B key combination). The I (Italic) symbol can make the selected text italic and the U symbol
can create underline text. We can combine these three kinds of formatting.

Some more complex kinds of formatting are available within the Font menu (Right click -> Font).
For example, Words Only enable underlying only words while ignoring the spaces between 2
words. There are even more underline styles such as: dotted underline, double line underline, thick
underline, etc. Strikethrough or Double strikethrough command can help creating strikethrough
text formatting. Superscript and subscript commands can enable typing simple equation like: a1x2 + b1y2
= 0.

The spaces among words can also be changed by using commands under Spacing menu (Right
click > Font > Advanced > Spacing).
