Locks and Alarm

Use the remote control or the keys to lock the truck. By always locking the doors you make it
more difficult for an intruder to gain access to your truck. The remote control has a button for
starting the panic alarm.

Alarm in My Truck (option)

With My Truck you can monitor functions such as alarms and door locks directly on your
mobile phone or tablet. If an alarm has triggered in the truck, My Truck can send notification
of this.

I. Door lock
The truck has central locking. From the driver's side, you can lock or unlock the driver's door
and passenger door simultaneously.

Unlocking

1. Unlock.
The driver's door is unlocked.
2. Lock.
3. Unlock again.
Both doors are unlocked.
Carry out the sequence 1-3 within three seconds in order to unlock both doors.

Number tag

A separate number tag is supplied with the truck's keys.All keys have the number that is on the
number tag. Remove the number tag from the bunch of keys so that no unauthorised persons
can see the number. Store or affix the tag in a safe place (there is self-adhesive tape on the
rear).

Locking

Lock the door by pressing the handle inwards. Both doors are locked.

Unlocking

Unlock the door by pulling the handle outwards. Only the current door is unlocked. Locking
and unlocking the driver's door once more unlocks both doors.

Driver's door control panel

The doors can be locked and unlocked with the control panel in the driver door.

Work remote control

The doors can be locked and unlocked with the work remote control.

II. Remote control

The central locking function with remote control simplifies the locking and unlocking of the
truck. To increase safety the driver and passenger doors are unlocked in sequence.

Using the remote control can also switch on guide lighting around the truck if it is dark when
you leave or approach the truck, and you can activate a panic alarm in the event of an unsafe
situation.

The truck is supplied with two remote controls.

Remote control, functions

Using the remote control you can lock and unlock the truck at a distance, switch on guide
lighting around the truck and activate the panic alarm.The remote control also acts as a main
switch.

Locking and unlocking

Locking

Lock the doors by pressing the LOCK button.

The direction indicators are on for two seconds.

Unlocking

Unlock the driver door by pressing the UNLOCK button.

The direction indicators make three short flashes.

Unlock both doors by pressing the UNLOCK button once again.

The direction indicators make three short flashes.

Guide lighting

Once the guide lighting is activated the truck's position lights, courtesy lights, side marker
lamps, direction indicators and interior lighting are switched on.

Switch on the lights by pressing the button for GUIDE LIGHTING.

Switch off the light in one of the following ways:

 press the button for GUIDE LIGHTING
 close the doors
 turn the key to its first position (accessory position), or
 wait until the light goes out automatically.

Panic Alarm

Hold the button on the remote control depressed for two seconds in order to activate the truck's
horn and direction indicators.

It is possible to lock or unlock the doors and drive off, even when the alarm is activated.

Hold in the button for a few seconds in order to switch off the panic alarm.Two short presses
of the button within two seconds also activate/switch off the panic alarm.

Main switch

Pressing the LOCK button on the remote control twice within two seconds will put the truck
in the "Parked" function mode. The direction indicators will give four brief flashes when this
occurs.

Remote control, battery replacement

The remote control for the central locking and any alarm is powered by a 3-volt battery, type
CR 2032.

Replace the battery once a year.

Batteries can be purchased from an authorised Volvo workshop.

The old batteries must be left for recycling.

Replacing the battery

1.

Carefully prize open the surround with a screwdriver.

2.

Remove the surround.

3.

Undo the rear.

4.

Press the battery in the direction of the arrow (1), press one of the holders outwards (2). Lift
out the battery.

Use your fingers, tools can damage the holders.

5. Insert a new battery.

6. Replace the rear section and the surround.

Remote control, losing

Contact an authorised Volvo workshop in the event of losing the remote control.

III. Service cover

There are filler points located behind the truck's service cover for washer fluid, coolant and
engine oil, amongst other things.

Press the handles inward toward the centre in order to open the service cover.

To avoid trapping injuries, press the handles inwards towards each other while pressing down,
just as when you opened the hatch.
