How to: Fix Microsoft Word showing { PAGE

\* MERGEFORMAT } instead of page

numbers?

The Issue
When we trying to add page numbers to the document, the
page number appear as { PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT }
instead of actual page numbers.

The Fix
1 Right click on the “{ PAGE \* MERGEFORMAT }” Click
on “Toggle Field Codes” option

2 Now the actual page number is back

(Or use Alt + F9 to switch between field codes/values for
entire document)
(Or select the entire field and press Shift + F9 to switch
between field codes/values)
