1. Consider to the following figure!

If p = r and q = s, are the area of rectangle and parallelogram equal? Explain!

2. The floor of a room measures 2, 8 meter x 3, 2 meter. If the floor will be covered with

tiles measuring 40 cm x 40 cm each. Explain how many tiles are required!

3. Mahfud has a rectangular garden with 90 m × 30 m. Around of the garden will be

planted with coconut trees with a distance every two trees 3 m. If the price of a coconut
12 cm

tree is Rp. 50,000.00, then determine the cost to buy the coconut trees!

4. Notice to the following figure!

10 cm
The area which is not shaded is 76 cm2. How to find the area of the shaded rectangle?

5. The length of one of parallel side in a trapezoid is 3 times another parallel side. If the

height and the area of trapezoid are 6 cm and 48 cm 2 respectively. Write the equation to

find the length parallel side!

6. Explain whether the formula area of trapezoid can be used to search the area of rectangle,

parallelogram, and kite. Give your reason!

7. The diagonals of rhombus are 24 cm and (x + 6) cm. If the area of rhombus is 120 cm 2,

then determine the value of x!

8. Consider to the following figure!

If the diagonal AC of rhombus will be shifted up 3 cm, then it will become a kite, are the

area of rhombus and kite equal? Explain!

9. A square white carton with the side length is 8 cm, a quarter of carton will be colored

with red color and tree-quarters colored with yellow color, cut and paired to rectangle

wall magazine with the length 12 cm × 8 cm. How many red cartons does the wall

magazine need to cover? Illustrate your answer!

10. In a parallelogram KLMN, KL will be extended to the right until O and MN will be

extended to the left until P, so it will be LO  NP . Explain why KOMP becomes

parallelogram?

11. Consider to the following figure !

If the length of DE, DF, and BC are10 cm,

8 cm, and 12 cm respectively.

Determine the length of AB!

12. Notice to the following figure!

If the area of kite 2 times area of rhombus and PR  TV , then determine the length of SQ

and ratio of WU and SQ!

 pq cm 2 1
The area of II  base×height 1
 rs 1
 rs cm2
p  r and q  s, then pq cm 2  rs cm 2 1
Thus, The area of (I) and the area of (II) is equal in measure
