LRAF INSTRUCTIONS
A. Withdrawal
Learner requested withdrawals should be completed if a learner is withdrawing entirely from a
programme with no intention of returning. Please include their last date of attendance as this affects
their liability for payment of fees. Email confirmation from the learner may be taken as proof of
intention to withdraw.
Academic withdrawals should be completed if a learner is being academically withdrawn. This action
must be approved by chairs action. The date and the reason for the decision should be included on the
form.
B. Change of programme
This request must normally be completed prior to the close of registration and must be authorised by
the Programme Director responsible for the programme the learner is requesting to exit from (page 1)
and transferring to (section B). The programme code(s) must be included when completing this section
of the LRAF.
If the learner is a non-EU category learner, International Office must confirm that there are no visa
implications.

Head of Faculty is confirming that a reason is valid and approved. The last date of attendance, and
expected return date must be included when completing this section of the LRAF.

implications for deferring a programme.
F. Exemption
Exemptions are normally processed during the application stage. In the exceptional case where a learner
is applying for an exemption, all supporting evidence must be provided with the LRAF when it is
submitted to registration@griffith.ie. The module code must be included when completing this section
of the LRAF.
G. Change of modules

Requests for change of modules must be completed prior to the close of registration in which the
module is taking place and must be requested prior to any assessment taking place. The module code
must be included when completing this section of the LRAF.
A change of elective modules is a change of module request that can be processed within the Faculty
and there is no requirement to inform or to send the LRAF to the Registration Office. Please note that
once any assessment is submitted in relation to the elective, the elective cannot be changed.
H. Personal details
Learners are able to update some personal details through their My Griffith account and should be
directed to do so for the following:
Change of telephone numbers / email addresses
Change of emergency contact details.
A LRAF is only required if a learner wishes to change their name, gender, or address. Valid forms of ID to
verify this change include a valid passport, a current Irish driving licence or a National Age Card. A
change of address request can be processed within the Faculty and there is no requirement to inform or
to send the LRAF to the Registration Office.
J. Change of campus
This section should be completed when a learner requests to follow the same programme at a different
campus. This request must normally be completed prior to the close of registration and must be
authorised by the Programme Directors responsible for the programme in both campuses. The
programme code(s) must be included when completing this section of the LRAF.
