(a) Check the computer components are properly connected

(b) Switch on the computer and the printer, if connected to the computer.
(c) Follow procedures to start up the computer
(d) Follow procedures for work health and safety when using the computer
(e) Use the folder named Activity or create a folder named Activity to save your work.
(f) Create the tables below about Australia.
Count the rows and columns required for each table.
Insert the Tables
Adjust the table borders to reduce row width where required.
Adjust the width of the rows and columns where required
Merge cells where required
(g) Use the following font styles & sizes
- Heading – Arial, 24 point
- Table text – 3 styles to be used - Arial, Comic Sans, Algerian, 12 point
(h) Use the following formatting
- heading - center aligned
- table text – left and center aligned where displayed
(i) Use vertical text alignment
Adjust cell text direction and alignment
(j) Shade individual cells of table. Use a variety of colours.
(k) Use the Header-Footer function. Insert a page number in the center of the footer of
the document. Type your name in the header of the document – left aligned
(l) Use Spell Check
(m) Use Custom Margins and alter the document margins to 2.5 cm for top, bottom,
right, left
(n) Alter the page orientation to landscape
(o) Save the document as Holidays in your Activity folder
(p) Use the preview function to check the document layout. Preview the file and make
any changes. Again, save the document in your Activity folder
(q) Print one copy of the document
(r) Close the document. Close the word processing application
(s) Follow procedures to shut down the computer
(t) Switch off the computer and other peripheral equipment
