Project & Practical File Work
Session 2022-23
General Instructions:

1. You are required to prepare the hardcopy for following practical and project work assigned.
2. For each practical oriented question, a separate softcopy file is required to be created and uploaded under the given
assignment over Google Classroom also.
3. You are required to submit a single hardcopy file for the solution of the given question in spiral file folder consisting
of the handwritten pages (wherever needed) as well as print out of all the solutions of the practical questions along
with the cover page consisting subject name “Computer Application” “Project and Practical Work” “Session 2022-23”
as well as Student name with scholar number, class and section
4. Total Seven (7) files to be uploaded are : Project Work – 01 and Practical File Work – 06
5. Hardcopy should have : Cover Page, Index Page, and these assignment pages (8 pages to be printed both sides of
paper), Practical Work (6 questions) and Project Work (1 question) with screen shots as mentioned with each
practical and project question.

Following is the check list of the points to take care of while preparing the document:
• To prepare the above document refer Chapter No. 2 of the book and pick up the content to be
written along with above topics from that only.
• You are also required to add 8 images relevant to the topic description at different places in the
document.
• Apply various kind of formatting effects covered under chapter 7 and 8 of your book like Margins,
Font, Styles, Alignment, Line Spacing, Headers, Footers etc.
• Insert tables and apply relevant formatting for tabular format-oriented data.
Practical File Work
• Use Auto Shapes and Graphic Text Art wherever possible.
Note : Save the document with file name Pr_Q1.odt and further you are suppose to upload the
document over Google Classroom by “Turn In” process as well as you are required to take the print
out of the document for the practical file.

Q. 2 (file name with which it is to be saved and uploaded in Google Classroom is : Pr_Q2.odt by choosing
the file type as ODF Text Document)
Refer Practical Assignment Q1 given on page number 152 of Computer Application Book and prepare the
document accordingly.
Once the document is ready. You are required to upload it over Google Classroom by “Turn In” as well as
take the printout of it and attach it into the practical file.

Q. 3 Prepare the document (flyer) in OpenOffice Writer as similar to the given below:

Observing the image make the document as much similar to the given one
as possible using all the relevant text content and applying all the required
formatting features available in the Writer software.

Once the document is ready. You are required to upload it over Google
Classroom by “Turn In” as well as take the printout of it and attach it into
the practical file.

Design the following worksheet based on the data of the Cricket Scores of India in two Innings in their Australia
Tour, the data displays the run scored by each cricketer :

Practical File Work

i. Match the formatting applied in the above screenshot with your work.

ii. Find Rohit Sharma’s total score in cell D4 by using the formula.

iii. Drag and copy the formula from cell D5 to D14 to calculate the total score of other players.

iv. Find maximum and minimum scores in both the innings by using Max() and Min() function in
cells B15, B16, and C15 and C16 respectively.

v. Plot the Column Chart using the data given in the range of A4:C14.

vi. Set the Title as “Score Card of India in both Innings”, Sub Title as “Australia Tour 2022”, X-Axis
Title as “Players Name” Y-Axis Title as “Runs Scored”

vii. Display the Legends at bottom of the Chart.

In practical file, you are required paste two screen shot of sheet 1. The first should show the calculated
answers, and the second screen shot should show the formulas implemented for various calculation asked.
Before taking the second screen shot use Ctrl + ~ as well as set the column B width as such that the complete
formula become visible. Ctrl + ~ is the toggle key which if again pressed turn the formulas to computed
values and vice versa.

Once the document is ready. You are required to upload it over Google Classroom by “Turn In” as well as
take the printout of it and attach it into the practical file.
Practical File Work

Q. 5 (file name with which it is to be saved and uploaded in Google Classroom is : Pr_Q5.ods)
Design a worksheet as shown and answer the following questions.

i. Match the formatting applied in the above screenshot with your work.
ii. Calculate the Dearness Allowance (DA) of all employees as 50 % of their salary.
iii.Calculate the Traveling Allowance (TA) of all employees as 25 % of their Salary.
iv. Calculate the House Rent Allowance (HRA) of all employees as 25 % of their Salary.
v. Calculate the Total Salary by using the formula Salary+DA+TA+HRA.
vi. Find the maximum, minimum, and average salaries being dispensed by M-tech Pvt. Ltd.
vii.Prepare the Bar Chart using the data range of B2:F7 with all types of titles as well as the
legends appearing on the right side of the chart.

Q. 6 (file name with which it is to be saved and uploaded in Google Classroom is : Pr_Q6.ods)
Prepare a presentation of six slides on the Role of Information Technology during Pandemic in School
Education System as per the direction given below :
• On the first slide, mention your name, class, section, and scholar number.
• On the second slide mention the topic of the presentation and add some attractive animation for its
entry in the PowerPoint show along with the relevant image.
• On the third, fourth, and fifth slides put the content related to the topic chosen by you with the usage
of various features and formatting effects on the content. You are allowed to associate relevant
images concerning the content.
• On the sixth slide, write the concluding notes along with “Thank You” along with some clipart,
shapes, or images.
• Apply Transition effect to all the slides.
Once the document is ready. You are required to upload it over Google Classroom by “Turn In” as well as
take the printout of the presentation as handouts with 3 slides on each page and attach it into the practical
file.

The accounts manager of a company “ABC Private Limited” uses the spreadsheet software for calculating the salary of the employees every month.
As January 2022 has ended, he is processing the salary for the mentioned month using the criteria depicted in the following screenshot.

A brief description of the criteria is as follows:


• Basic Pay indicated Monthly Salary
• Working Days (decided by the manager as per the month of the year)
• Leave taken in the month is the number of days the employee was absent and salary for those days will not be paid. Hence it will be
reduced for Working Days to find Net Working Days
• Per Day Salary will be calculated by dividing the Basic Pay by Working Days of the Month
• Gross Salary will be calculated by multiplying Net Working Days with Per Day Salary.
• 25% of Gross Salary is given as Dearness Allowance to every employee each month.
• Finally, Net Salary is calculated by adding Gross Salary and DA amount
• In the last row of the worksheet, the manager also wants to know the total of the Net Salary of all the employees as a single amount
to get it sanctioned from the owner of the company.
Project Work

You are also required to apply all the formatting features along with the required formulas/functions to calculate the data for various criteria as
indicated. After applying all the required formulas/functions and formatting features the worksheet should look as follows.

In practical file, you are required paste two screen shot of sheet 1. The first should show the calculated answers, and the second screen shot should

continue your work in file created in Project Question 1)
Project Work
The accounts manager of a company “ABC Private Limited” also wants to have a visual analysis of the salaries given to the employees. For the
same, you are required to assist the manager in developing the Bar Graph showing the name of the employees, Designation, and the Basic Salary of
each one visually.
The graph should have:
• The Title as “ABC Private Limited”
• Subtitle as “Basic Salary of the Employees”
• X-Axis title as “Designation and Name of the Employees”
• Y-Asix title as “Basic Salary (in. Rs.)”
• The legends should not be shown

Applying all the steps for Bar Graph development and formatting features, the graph should look as follows:

Project Work

In practical file, you are required screen shot of sheet 1 as shown above. This screen shot will include the chart developed. Another screenshot will
be explicitly of Chart only.

After solving question two in the same soft copy file. You are required to upload it over Google Classroom by “Turn In” as well as take the printout
of it and attach it into the practical file.
