FindAphotographer.com is PPA’s photographer search engine. Thousands of potential clients use it
to find a professional photographer that suits their needs.

Your listing is activated by default when you become a PPA member. It displays basic information
about your business so those searching can contact you directly. But not all listings are created equal!
Make your listing pop by updating it with a profile image, examples of your work, and enticing details
about you and your business. After all, you want to stand out from the crowd, right?

In the image on the left you’ll see the difference between a default listing with a PPA logo and a
customized listing with a custom profile image. Which one do you think stands out more?
Customizing your listing is completely free, and it’s quick!

To customize your FindAPhotographer.com profile, follow these simple steps:
1- Go to your My PPA page. Under myProfile, select Find-A-Photographer to access your listing customization
area. Or simply click here.

2- Go through each tab and add/update the information you want to create the best possible listing.

4|Page
The Overview tab shows the information displayed on your listing. It is populated by default with your PPA
member information: name, city and state, no image, and the email link will direct to the one you used to sign up
for your membership.

Below you can see how your basic listing appears by default in FindAPhotographer.com when an image is
uploaded. This is what potential clients will see when they search for someone to hire using the website.

This is what your listing would look like with no profile image.

In the Profile tab (see next page for screen capture) you
can:
 Add a profile picture (1:1 ratio, 300pixels max.)
 Update your name and studio name as you want them
to appear in your listing
 Add your website URL
 Add your Twitter, Facebook and Instagram handles
 Write a short bio so people can get a first glimpse of
who you are
 Add basic studio information

Note: Degrees and other credentials are automatically

populated by the system
Once you’ve filled in all your desired information, click the
“Update Profile” button at the bottom right of the webpage.
If you leave any section empty, it will not show on your
listing.

The Contact & Location tab is where you enter your contact information. You may have signed up for your
membership with different information than the one you want to use for your listing. You can make those
changes here and it will not affect your membership information. Also, you’ll need to decide if you want to
display your phone number and email address on your listing.

Don’t worry: your address will not be publicly displayed. We only use it to pinpoint your general location on
the map and to allow potential clients to search by location.

And don’t forget to click the “Update Contact Information” button on the bottom right when done.

In Specialties, you simply need to check the boxes of photographic specialties you provide. Clients may search
using specific specialty terms, so make sure to select all of those that you want to be found for.
And, as with the other tabs, click the “Save Specialties” button in the bottom right when finished, to save your
information.

In the Photos tab, you can upload your portfolio photos.

We recommend you prepare the images you want to use ahead of time. Consider the following:
 Images must be 1200 px on the longest side, JPG file format only
 Filename should only contain alphanumeric characters
 You can now have a gallery for each photography specialty you select with up to 10 images per gallery.
For example, if you are a wedding and high school senior photographer you can have one gallery of 10
wedding images and one gallery of 10 high school senior images.
 In addition to a gallery for each specialty, your listing will now have a “Showcase” of images. Consider this
your “best of” collection. You have the ability to select any 10 of your gallery images to add to the showcase.
 Images will display in the order in which they were uploaded (so keep this in mind)

This is what your

Showcase will look like
on your listing.
