Research experience

 Screening the microbial population in human’s oral cavity from saliva samples:

Microbial population was screened in the human’s saliva samples around the Tiruchengode
rural areas for finding the hygienic condition of their health. In this study saliva samples were collected
from more than hundred peoples and screened few peoples had some pathogens in the oral cavity. More
than 30 different morphological Actinomycetes and Bacterial strains were isolated among these six
strains are identified as common human pathogens.

 Screening and characterization of bioactive compounds:

Bioactive compounds are screened from plant extracts with different type of solvents like
Hexane, Methanol, Chloroform and Acetone. From this study different types of fractions are collected
and characterized by common phytochemical analysis techniques.

 Solvent optimization for Chromatography:

Solvent had major role in the Thin layer chromatography and Column chromatography. For this
different polarity solvents are applied in the bioactive compound identification and purification. More
than 30 different types of solvent polarity was prepared and applied in the process from this study two
specific polarity shows the two to three compound fractions. These collected fractions were
characterized by the GC-MS and NMR techniques.

 Antioxidant activity of Plant samples:

Antioxidant activity of plant samples was done to pre-confirm the anticancer activity for the
samples. In this study crude plant extract was preliminarily confirmed and shows the sufficient results
in antioxidant activity and also against the cancer cell lines. Purified bioactive compounds were
extracted from the plant source and show the best antioxidant activity compare to the crudes results.

 Production of Energy conserve petroleum:

Plastic wastes are most marked hazards around the world. Nowadays Petroleum and its products
prices was increases day by day because of the crude oils insufficiency with high production cost. In
this study, utilize the plastic wastes those are collected in the college campus and applied in the
pyrolysis process.

This study was differing from the others pyrolysis studies because we don’t use the any gases
and fires for this used a designed simple electrical apparatus with natural energy as source for the
process. This apparatus was economically too low cost and also petroleum products cost also decrease.
