Project work breakdown structure (WBS)
The work breakdown structure (WBS) helps the project to distribute and organize the
team's work into logical areas. The Corporate Governance Information Authority (PMBOK)
describes the work breakdown structure as "distributable gradations of the work to be
performed by the extended team." The external work breakdown structure characterizes
the scope into the logical chunks that a joint venture team can have, as each level of the
work breakdown structure provides supporting definition and detail.
Consists of 4 work packages that represent the 4 main stages of the improvement
preparation process, i.e. Initiation, Arrangement, Implementation, and Delivery & Support.
