CHAPTER III

METHODOLOGY

This chapter presents and discusses the suitable research design, locale of the

study, the respondents/ subject of the study, determining the sample size and sampling

techniques, research instrument, applying appropriate data gathering procedures and

finally the data analysis procedures. Several factors like investigators’ capability,

resources and time were also considered in developing this chapter for the attainment of

the objectives.

Research Design

The researcher will use descriptive research design.

Locale of the Study

This study will be conducted at Teacher Education Department of Capiz State

University Dumarao Satellite College A.Y 2021-2022.

Respondents of the Study

The respondents of the study were the 4 th Year College of Teacher Education

Department of Capiz State University Dumarao Satellite College.

Sample Size

The study adapts the formula used by Slovin in identifying the sample size where:

N
30

n = __________
1 + Ne2

Where:

n – is the sample size

N – is the population size

e – is the margin of error

Sampling Technique

Stratified Random Sampling technique will be use in selecting the respondents.

This is done by separating the population units into non-overlapping groups determined

by every strand and subsamples are selected through simple random sampling. In this

study, there were total of 47 numbers of respondents distributed into different strands.

Research Instrument

A set of survey questionnaire will be used in obtaining the data. The research

instrument has been adopted and carefully developed by the researchers. Part I contain

the socio-demographic profile of the respondents. Part II-----------------------

Data Analysis Procedure

Data gathered will be analyze the descriptive statistics such as frequency counts,

percentage and mean, while inferential statistics such as Analysis of Variance (ANOVA),

T – test of independence and Pearson Product Moment Correlation Coefficient (r) were

used in determining the associations between the socio-demographic and effectiveness of

new normal education in academic performance.
