Ans: Ecuador’s comparative advantage in the production of roses lies within their unique
climate conditions and its innovation.

2. What are the key reasons that facilitated the growth of the Ecuadorian rose
industry?

Ans: The key reasons facilitating the growth of the Ecuadorian rose industry are-
a. Growth of best quality roses all year round because of geographical advantages.
b. Replacing drag trafficking by flower growing through the Andean Trade
Preference Act.
c. Highest minimum wages of flower workers in Ecuador.
d. Visitor’s attraction for Ecuadorean rose plantation.

Ans: The land of the Ecuador becomes fertile by cultivating roses because farmers get

particularly prized in Russia and are mostly demanded by Russian people. On the
contrary, the people in US supermarkets and their customers favor shorter flowers, which
can cost significantly more.
