Bang Bang You’re Dead

Design by Mark Huisenga, Thurston High School Tech Director

After reading the whole script, this “Bang-Bang You’re Dead” tells about a story of
vulnerable boy who was murdering his fellow friends at school canteen. These victims are
coming up to ask for the reason why Josh killed them that tragic. He is consecutively approached
by Michael, Katie, Matt, Jessie, and Emily who are all staring at Josh’s flat-frustated face, and
every piece of the scene throwing back at each deed when they were alive. John felt his existence
was nothing, he was being ignored by circle he gave up already the most, this all too unfair for
him (even more for his victim). Betrayal, abusement, triangle love, envious, silly childhood
memory, all feelings he thought he didn’t deserve allied by the time he bangs that gun out.

“Sometimes I hate being alive, but I'm afraid to be dead.” He whistles. This stage starts
culminate when Katie was talking about the worst part of being dead—followed by others who
tell each daily life and dreams. How could it be sad and joyful at the same time? They miss it,
but it never ever happens anymore. Because they are dead—and Josh made them so. There are
also parents and school teacher scene who never understand him. Once he didn’t want to be sent
to summer school, didn’t want to be given any test, papers or something he shouldn’t do. It went
crazier when he mumbled at his parents’ corpses. Now, it is easier to talk with his mom and dad
without any interruption but Josh has already lost his back. Who will sing ‘Twinkle Twinkle’ at
night when he is going to sleep? Who will carry him out when he catches a high-fly? He regrets
what he has done. He is now being judged in court. Josh’s imagination never stops offending his
entire mind. At the end, the judges seems confuse to decide the punishment due to high numbers
of victims resulted. Finally, the court burdens Josh with a whole-lifetime in prison, without any
possibilities. Possibilities of diminishing jailed period, rehabilitation, or even released.

I didn't know it would be forever. I thought it was “bang bang you’re dead again.”
War and hunting are Josh favourite things, and his life “ends up” as the Bang Bang You’re Dead
video game was played. Perhaps he didn’t realize it all. However, unfortunately, he can’t press
restart button and start it from the beginning. It’s all over and he'll never have anything to look
forward to. Never.
