Dear Sir,

This is with reference to a meter tempering accusation by K-Electric officials on my electricity meter
under Account no. 0400032384062.

I am resident of --------------I have been living on rent basis in the said house since October 2020. This is
pertinent to mention that I have been paying all my bills timely (The copies are attached for your ready
reference).

It is apprise your offices that K-Electric team visited my house for the meter change on 26-July 2021.
They installed new meter and took the old meter with themselves without any intimation. K-Electric
team visited my home again dated August 16, 2021 for the disconnection of my connection. Upon
enquiry for the disconnection of my meter, they informed my family regarding the tempering with
previously installed meter which was removed by K-Electric officials dated July 16, 2021. My family
rejected their baseless accusation of tempering and the K-Electric staff suggested to meet Mr. Sunil
Kumar in this regard by not later than 17 Aug 2021, failing which they may disconnect the connection.

I, myself, visited the office of Mr. Sunil Kumar for the discussion and resolution of the matter dated
August 16, 2021. Mr. Sunil Kumar was adamant to its stance of tempering with old meter and
intimidating me with heavy penalty. Mr. Sunil Kumar was informed that during the removal of meter KE
team didn’t provide any kind of tempering evidence at the site. However, he did not listen to my
justifications and repeatedly accused me for tempering of meter without any pictorial evidence of the
site.

It is of utmost significance to mention that neither any tempering at the site was identified nor KE team
informed about any such tempering during the changeover of meter. Moreover, KE also haven’t
provided any pictorial evidence of meter tempering recorded during the removal of old meter at my
site. Principally, the user is not responsible for any tempering of meter off the site.

I also requested Mr. Sunil Kumar to send the technical team to my home for the Audit of load
Management and tally with my monthly bills for any discrepancy but he didn’t considered my request
and emphasized to impose heavy penalty.

I want to clear here my stance that I am writing this application for removal of all penalty charges but
will not accept any kind of adjustment in penalty amount by K.E since I haven’t tampered my meter ever
and such thought haven’t crossed my mind too. I assure your office that being a civilized citizen, I
haven’t ever been involved in any kind unethical activities such as meter tempering.

Your office is requested to look in to the matter seriously for the resolution of matter keeping in view
a. No Evidence provided by K-Electric at the site during the change of meter nor any such
intimation.
b. Meter Tempering Accusation was brought in to lime light after the three weeks of meter
removal.
c. No load management audit of my house.
d. No Pictorial evidence provided by K-Electric officials so far.
