Standard Features and Options

See Page 2 for Application Information and Page 3 for Model Description.

The MS Series meters differ from the M Series meters only in that they are two-cased steel housed meters whereas the
M Series are single-cased cast housed meters. Metrologically they are the same. The two-cased housing design permits
use of the meters in systems that have pressures greater than the typical 150 psi rating for the single case. Steel cases
are also specified at times for safety reasons.

Note: These meters are approved only for products that remain in the liquid state at atmospheric pressure.

Features:
• Positive displacement rotary design
• Micrometer meter adjustment in increments of 0.02%

Options:
• Vapor/air eliminator • Counter printer
• Preset valve • Preset counter
• Strainer • Counter
• Temperature compensator • Digital electronic register
• Register mounting flange assemblies may be installed • Electronic or mechanical pulser
in 6 different positions

This device was evaluated under the National Type Evaluation Program (NTEP) and was found to comply with the applicable technical
requirements of Handbook 44, "Specifications, Tolerances, and Other Technical Requirements for Weighing and Measuring Devices."
Evaluation results and device characteristics necessary for inspection and use in commerce are on the following pages.

Kinematic viscosity is measured in centistokes.
Source for some of the viscosity value information is in the Industry Canada - Measurement Canada "Liquid
Products Group, Bulletin V-16-E (rev. 1), August 3, 1999."

The suitability of measuring multiple products through one meter is determined by field testing, at individual installations,
of all products that each meter will measure with one calibration setting. If two products require different meter calibration
settings, in order to be measured accurately, they cannot be metered through the same meter.

* The 5-digit assembly no. used in the past is being eliminated from future meter model designations.

The MS meter pressure rating is coded into the prefix of the model number as follows.

MS Meter Pressure Rating (M Meter Pressure Rating is 150 psi)

Model Prefix Working Pressure (psi)
MS 150
MSAA 275
MSA 300
MSB 720
MSC 1440

The type of case has no influence on accuracy of the meter except to eliminate possible expansion or distortion of the
measuring chamber. In the two-cased design, the measuring element is completely surrounded by balanced pressure
freeing this meter type from pressure influence.

Models: M5, 7, 10, 15, 20, 25, 30, 40, 60, 80-X Series
MS7, 15, 25, 30, 40, 75, 120-X Series

Sealing: A metal cover over the meter calibration mechanism may be sealed with a physical security seal.

Test Conditions: This certificate supersedes Certificate of Conformance Number 92-141A5 and incorporates sections of
Certificate of Conformance Number 92-075A2 without superseding it. A model M60-16 meter interfaced with E26-series
LCR-II indicator (NTEP CC 86-022) was tested at a field location using ethanol as a test liquid. The device was
successfully tested to VTM tolerances at 370 gpm, 285 gpm, 200 gpm, 115 gpm, and 30 gpm. Permanence test was waived
consistent with NCWM Publication 14 - 2009, Policy F. Previous test conditions are listed below for reference.

Certificate of Conformance Number 92-141A5: This certificate supersedes Certificate of Conformance Number 92-
141A4 and is issued to include etched markings for identification, and the addition of a manufactures meter material class.
A sample of the etched markings was evaluated for permanence and for required information. The meter has not changed,
no additional testing was necessary. Previous test conditions are listed below for reference.

Certificate of Conformance Number 92-141A4: This certificate supersedes Certificate of Conformance Number 92-
141A3 and is issued to include a number of optional changes to the M5 meter. The optional changes are as follows:
housing with integral elbows (original housing has bolted-on elbows); gears on one side of the meter only (original has
timing gears on one side and output gears on the other side); and hard coated rotors (instead of sleeve bearings). The
optional changes can be implemented individually or together in a single meter. The original construction is also still valid.
A meter with the new housing, hard-coated rotors, and the new gearing was tested in the manufacturer facility using
solvent. The emphasis of this evaluation was on the device design, performance, and accuracy of the meter. The meter was
tested at normal, intermediate, and slow delivery rates. Repeat tests were conducted at the same flow rates after a
throughput of more than 122 000 gallons of solvent. Previous test conditions are repeated below for reference.

Certificate of Conformance Number 92-141A3: This Certificate superseded Certificate of Conformance Number 92-
141A2 and is issued without testing to correct a typographical error in the flow rate of the M80 meter on the previous
Certificate. Previous test conditions are listed below for reference.

Certificate of Conformance Number 92-141A2: This Certificate superseded Certificate of Conformance Number 92-
141A1 and was issued to add the MS Series meters to the Certificate. Because the MS Series meters have the same
physical dimensions, have the same clearances within the measuring element, and are made of the same materials as the M
Series, the two series are considered equivalent in performance and durability. This Certificate was issued without
additional testing based on previous tests and information supplied by the manufacturer.

Certificate of Conformance Number 92-141A1: This Certificate superseded Certificate of Conformance Number 92-141
and was issued to correct the error under the test conditions on page 4. This Certificate does not supersede Certificate of
Conformance Number 92-075, which is to be retained. It also corrects a model number (from M80-21 to M80-2) under
Test Conditions for CC No. 91-120.

Certificate of Conformance Number 92-141: The models M7 and M80 were tested under NTEP. Most of the
intermediate models were tested under the California Type Evaluation Program. Based upon the NTEP tests conducted on
the meters near the extremes of the range of the family and the California tests, all meters in the family as indicated above
are included in this Certificate. The following test conditions apply to model M80-2 (NTEP Certificate of Conformance
No. 91-120) and models M5-X, M7-X and M15-X (NTEP Certificate of Conformance No. 92-075).

Certificate of Conformance Number 91-120: The Model M-80-2 vehicle mounted tank meter was tested initially at both
normal and slow delivery rates. After a throughput of over 2 million gallons, the meter was retested at normal, medium,
and slow delivery rates.

MS7, 15, 25, 30, 40, 75, 120-X Series

Test Conditions (continued):

Certificate of Conformance Number 92-075: The Model M7-40800-7 stationary mounted wholesale meter was tested
initially at both normal and slow flow rates. The test solvents were perchloroethylene and naphtha. Test configuration
included the meter, strainer, and air eliminator and preset valve. After a throughput of over 200,000 gallons in 30 days, the
meter was retested using the same solvents. All tests (including the air elimination test) were within acceptance tolerance
indicating the meter complies with applicable requirements. The meter was also tested on ethanol and found to be within
acceptable accuracy limits although requiring recalibration to zero to measure this product.
