This selection forms the basis of what is in stock most of the time. These are all good
quality wines and spirits that offer excellent value – especially when compared with their
prices charged in the UK. We prefer to show keen headline prices, rather than raise them so
as to take off some notional “discount”. The euro price you see is the price you pay.

These are the prices for items collected from our shop. If you wish to order wines to be
delivered in the UK or around the rest of Europe, please visit www.boursot.fr/en/ which is
our ecommerce site where you can see, order and pay for the wines. Because the wines
there are for delivery, the prices are different because of all the repackaging and as a
contribution towards the high cost of delivery. Since 1 January 2021 in the UK there are
new import charges payable on delivery. However our prices are still less expensive than if
you were buying these wines, even if you could find them elsewhere.

You probably know some of the choices already, but we will of course be happy to explain
individual styles - and of course you can taste many of them as and when you are able to
travel again. We have no minimum order requirement and you can mix your bottles and
cases as much as you like.

You can also have your favourite wines sent directly to our premises from the vineyards, so
that you can simply hop across to collect these cases, taking advantage of low French
prices. Please call or e-mail for further details.

La Fleur de Mondésir, Bergerac Sec, 2020 4,50€ £3.80
A pale coloured dry white with a light “citric” nose and a fresh character. Made from Sauvignon and
Sémillon, this is clean and crisp and offers fantastic value. This Bergerac is good to enjoy by itself or with light food.

Le Petit Pont, Réserve, Blanc, Vin de Pays d’Oc, 2020 4,60€ £3.90
A fresh and fruity dry white wine made from Vermentino and Chardonnay close to Béziers in the Languedoc.
The wine has a vivacity and, some might say, an aroma of white fruits! Extra-ordinary quality at such
a sensible price! Very easy drinking. (Lowest price in UK shops: £7.85)

Gros Manseng/Sauvignon, La Gascogne d’Alain Brumont, 2020 5,20€ £4.40

A dry and refreshing aromatic style of white, so typical of the wines from Gascony. The ultimate easy to
enjoy fruity dry wine - by itself or with summery foods. Special relaunch price.

Colombard/Sauvignon N° 3, Domaine Uby (Gascogne), 2020 5,40€ £4.60

A dry fruity wine with a refreshing balance of freshness with exotic fruits. Grapey enough to enjoy by
itself or with lighter food. Dryer than the No 4.

Muscadet de Sèvre et Maine, Sur Lie, La Griffe Bernard Chéreau, 6,20€ £5.20
Chéreau-Carré (Loire), 2020 Half Bottles 3,50€ £3.00
Chéreau Carré is one of the best producers of Muscadet. This is a bone-dry wine that has a zingy
freshness about it, without the acidity that so many Muscadets can have. Also, having been made “sur lie”,
the wine has more body and spiciness. This wine is of high quality and offers you excellent value. (Price in UK shops: £10.70)

Sauvignon de Touraine, Domaine de Marcé (Loire), 2020 6,40€ £5.40

For years we followed Domaine Octavie in this same village of Oisly, but recently have found this new
wine which we believe to be equally good whilst of even better value. Coming from 20 year old vines,
the wine is fresh, fruity and not acidic – it’s delightful and can be enjoyed either with or without food.
Now regularly awarded gold medals for its quality.

Picpoul de Pinet, Domaine Morin Langaran (Languedoc), 2020 7,10€ £6.00

Bone dry but with plenty of smooth fruit – the perfect accompaniment to fish and white meat. Also easy
to enjoy by itself, serve it very cool to appreciate its refreshing character. Do not confuse this with some
of the boring examples on today’s market, this is from one of the two best producers of the area. Best
when enjoyed young and fresh. Picpoul is the grape and Pinet is the town close to Mèze near Agde on the south coast.

Viognier, Extrait de Romarion, Foncalieu, IGP Pays d’Oc (Languedoc), 2019 7,20€ £6.10
The Viognier grape has an exotic fruit aroma and grapey-ness and is a bit different, and this lovely wine,
made by the dynamic Foncalieu, is mouth wateringly delicious and is really easy to enjoy by itself or with
lighter foods. A delicious example of proper Viognier!

Château de Fontenille, Entre Deux Mers (Bordeaux), 2020 7,20€ £6.10

Half Bottles 4,60€ £3.90
An exciting and refreshing dry white Bordeaux made from 50% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Sauvignon Gris,
20% Muscadelle and 10% Sémillon. The Sauvignon Gris adds fullness and exotic fruit aromas. Crisp and dry,
this wine is perfect with lighter food or simply by itself. One of the best of the area, this is a consistent medal winner.

Bourgogne Aligoté, Buissonnier (Burgundy), 2020 7,40€ £6.30

Aligoté is the “other” grape of Burgundy and produces a wine with more freshness than that produced
from the Chardonnay. It is very dry. This is produced in the Chablis area and is an excellent example at
a very reasonable price.

Château de Fayolle, Bergerac Sec (Bordeaux), 2018 7,50€ £6.40

A regular medal winning dry Bergerac made from 95% Sauvignon and 5% Sémillon grown on chalky
ground. A wine to be enjoyed young with its vibrant fruit and fresh floral aromas. Easy to appreciate.

Gros et Petit Manseng N° 4, Domaine Uby (Gascogne), 2020 7,60€ £6.40

A wine with exotic fruit flavours but that is off-dry. An explosion of refreshing fruit in the mouth from
this typical Gascony wine.

Saint-Bris, Sauvignon, Bailly-Lapierre (Burgundy), 2020 8,10€ £6.90

This is the only Sauvignon allowed in the Burgundy area and this specific example has a lovely complexity
with the minerality of a good Chablis whilst having the freshness of the Sauvignon. It is grown just outside
Chablis and is freshand dry but has more softness than most Sauvignons. Fruity and easy to appreciate.

Les Galets Dorés, Château Mourgues du Grès,

Costières de Nîmes (Rhône), 2019 ORGANIC 8,40€ £7.10
Considering the warmth in this region close to the Rhône, it is remarkable that such a wine can remain so
fresh. A medium wright dry white made from Roussanne, Grenache Blanc and Vermentino with an aroma
reminiscent of white flowers and citric fruits. A good accompaniment to spicier food such as oriental food.

Touraine Oisly, Sauvignon, Coulée Galante, Domaine de Marcé (Loire), 2020 8,80€ £7.50
A richer style of Sauvignon, from Oisly, the village that produces probably the best Touraine Sauvignons.
Put your nose to the glass and you will immediately sense the fullness of this impressive Sauvignon.
Low acidity but beautifully balanced – made by Christophe Godet, this is impressive by all standards.

Côtes du Rhône Blanc, Terroir d'Exception,

Domaine Grande Romane, Pierre Amadieu (Rhône), 2019 9,10€ £7.70
A really good quality fresh and fruity white made entirely from Clairette vines that were planted at altitude
in 1955. The grapes are pressed and then fermented in new oak casks and kept on the lees for better
flavour extraction. The wine has a freshness yet a richness, making it perfect to enjoy by itself – and of
course it will go with all the usual fishy suspects as well as lighter meats! This highly sought wine has
a limited production.

Les Jardins Philosophiques, Château Bouscassé,

Pacherenc du Vic Bilh Sec (Côtes de Gascogne), 2015 9,20€ £7.80
Made exclusively from the Gascony grape, the Petit Courbu, on argilo-calcaire soil and made without use
of any oak, so this has a clean fresh grapey flavour. A little different and really refreshing.

Château de Respide, Graves (Bordeaux), 2020 9,80€ £8.30

This is a lovely wine: made from 66% Sémillon and 34% Sauvignon. Because the wine has undergone
micro-oxygenation, it has an open and appealing freshness and fruitiness on the nose and in the mouth.
Great with first courses, fish, chicken or even with many lighter cheeses.

Morillon Blanc by Jeff Carrel, Vin de Pays de l'Aude (Languedoc), 2018 9,90€ £8.40
Morillon Blanc is the original name of the Chardonnay. This wine is made from botrytised Chardonnay
grapes that have been vinified as a dry wine partly in barrel and partly in steel tanks. The result is a deliciously
soft sweeter smelling Chardonnay but with a pardoxically dry style. A really interesting wine.

Muscat Sec, Cuvée Augustin, Robert Faller et Fils (Alsace), 2018 10,30€ £8.70
The Muscat grape gives a delightful orange-like fragrance to its wines. This fine example is grapey and
refreshing – especially when served chilled with light summer dishes.

Ericka, Pacherenc du Vic Bilh Sec, Château Laffitte-Teston 2017 10,80€ £9.20
So as to develop as many aromas of ripe grapes as possible, the grapes - 70% Petit Manseng, 20% Gros
Manseng and 10% Petit Courbu - are all harvested relatively late. Then the juice is fermented in new oak
to give exotic fruit flavours in this gorgeous fruity dry white wine.

Mâcon-Solutré-Pouilly, Domaine Pascal & Mireille Renaud (Burgundy), 2020 10,80€ £9.20
The village of Solutré produces a slightly more minerally style among the top Mâcon villages and this is super.
Highly recommended, this is easy to appreciate.

Mâcon-Fuissé, Château Vitallis (Burgundy), 2020 10,90€ £9.20

Full of grapey flavour but with a lighter texture, this is a mouth wateringly delicious wine. This is white
Mâcon at its best, and if you have not already, you should try this – it’s outstanding!

Lirac Blanc, La Fermade, Domaine Maby (Rhône), 2020 10,90€ £9.20

Made predominantly from Grenache Blanc with Clairette, Picpoul and Viognier, the juice is cold fermented
to retain freshness. It has light, floral aromas, with more softness and fullness in the mouth and finishes
with a little spiciness – a lovely marriage of flavours that makes it so good to accompany various lighter foods.
This wine is regularly applauded by the wine guides and critics.

Ménétou-Salon, Le Prieure de Saint-Céols (Loire), 2019 11,00€ £9.30

Ménétou made its name some years ago as the less well known neighbour to Sancerre at a lesser price.
Nowadays Ménétou wines can be of about the same price so they need to have the quality to support
this status. This excellent example is crisp and fresh and still represents exceptional value.

Montagny, Premier Cru, Les Coères, Vignerons de Buxy (Burgundy), 2018 11,60€ £9.80
Montagny is one of the four main wine producing villages in the Côte Chalonnaise and produces lighter
styles of dry white wine from the Chardonnay grape. Buxy produces the majority of all Montagny and this
particular Premier Cru is full of dry flavour and is of excellent quality. Good for your special entertaining. (UK price: £14.99)

Château de Fontenille, Les Survivantes, Bordeaux Blanc Sec, 2020 11,70€ £9.90
This is a delicious wine made from old Sémillon, Sauvignon Gris and Sauvignon Blanc vines that has been
aged for six months in oak to harmonise the flavours. Because the style is abnormal to the appellation of
Entre Deux Mers, the wine has to be “declassified” to straight Bordeaux Blanc – but just taste it and you
will see that this is in a superior league of quality. It has exotic fruit aromas and flavours whilst being dry
and it is delicious served with lighter foods.

Chablis, Maurice Tremblay, 2019 11,90€ £10.10

Maurice Tremblay’s Chablis wines come from a very respectable producer and we have succeeded in
finding you great value for your money. Tremblay’s wines have the typical “minerality” of a classic
Chablis but also have a deliciously full dry fruitiness on the palate, with a long aftertaste. Forget the
bland Chablis sold by multiple retailers, this wine is classic proper Chablis. Outstanding value.

Pacherenc de Vic-Bilh, Torus, Alain Brumont, Doux (Gascogne), 2018 12,40€ £10.50
The famous sweet wine of Gascony, made from late harvested Petit Manseng grapes. This wine has an
almost delicate freshness – it’s lovely. You could serve it either at the beginning or at the end of a meal.

Gewürztraminer, Tradition, Robert Faller et Fils (Alsace), 2018 12,70€ £10.80

A good example of a classic Gewürztraminer: fragrant but dry with an aroma reminiscent of lychees.
Delicious, refreshing and different – the perfect partner to most first courses and it even goes well with
spicy food! Regularly described by you as one of the best Gewürztraminers. There is currently a shortage
of Gewürztraminer from recent harvests.

Saint-Véran, A la Côte, Château Vitallis (Burgundy), 2020 12,80€ £10.80

This is a seriously “upper crust” wine made at Château de Vitallis with the typical light mineral aroma of this
appellation but it has an additional richness on the palate. You do not need to pay more for a truly delicious Saint-Véran.

Pinot Gris, Cuvée Bénédicte, Robert Faller et Fils (Alsace), 2019 12,90€ £10.90
This grape used to be known as the Tokay of Alsace, more recently as the Tokay Pinot Gris and now
the Pinot Gris. Faller makes some lovely refreshing wines. Here, a powerfully grapey, almost sweet smelling,
aroma precedes a dry flavour, creating an alluring paradox. This medium dry wine will marry perfectly
with exotic food or even, foie gras.

Pouilly Fumé, Domaine Tabordet (Loire), 2020 13,00€ £11.00

This wine from the village of Pouilly-sur-Loire is just how it should be – dry, light and fresh Sauvignon
fruit with a hint of spiciness. It’s crisper in style than our Sancerre. This is an immediately impressive
wine from this small family producer. (Price in UK shops: £19.24)

Riesling, Trottacker de Ribeauvillé, Robert Faller et Fils (Alsace), 2016 13,20€ £11.20
Faller is based in the picturesque town of Ribeauvillé, where many of Alsace’s best Rieslings are produced.
Fabulous: from argilo-calcareous subsoil, this wine is bone dry but with plenty of typical Riesling flavour.
We always compare Faller’s wines very favourably against Trimbach’s – but at so much better value. This
wine is of a Grand Cru quality but of course without its normal price tag.

Bourgogne Hautes Cotes de Beaune, Clos du Bois Prévot,

Domaine Mazilly (Burgundy), 2020 13,50€ £11.40
A high quality Burgundy, made from grapes grown in the hills behind Meursault and Montrachet in the
Côte de Beaune. The wine has been partially aged in oak casks but it’s delicate and fresh. You could happily
keep this wine for another three years. Ideal when you’d like to enjoy high quality but great value white Burgundy.

Sancerre, Domaine Franck Millet (Loire), 2020 13,80€ £11.70

Sancerre wines tend to have a little more softness than those of Pouilly Fumé, made from the same Sauvignon
grape. Franck Millet is actively involved at every stage of the wine’s production and is generally recognised
as one of the area’s best small producers. This gem, full of dry Sauvignon fruitiness, is soft and smooth and
is a regular medal winner when entered into competitions. (Price in UK shops: £21.00)

Larmes Célestes, Château Bouscassé,

Pacherenc du Vic-Bilh, Doux (Côtes de Gascogne), 2017 Half-Litres 9,70€ £8.20
Pacherenc is the famous sweet wine of Gascony, made from late harvested Petit Manseng, Gros Manseng
and Petit Courbu grapes. This wine has an almost delicate freshness – it’s quite lovely. You could serve it
either at the beginning or at the end of a meal.

Rêve d’Automne, Château Laffitte-Teston

Pacherenc du Vic Bilh, Doux (Côtes de Gascogne), 2017 Half-Litres 10,70€ £9.10
Made from late harvested individually picked Petit Manseng grapes, this sweet grapey wine has a delicate
flavour. Perfect to go with fruit desserts, some cheeses or even the traditional foie gras.

Château de Varennes, Savennières (Loire), 2018 15,90€ £13.50

A bone dry wine made from 100% Chenin Blanc that could age over the next 10 years with no problem,
to become fuller and softer in style.

Pouilly Fuissé, Les Vignes du Château,

Château Vitallis (Burgundy), 2020 16,30€ £13.80
The average age of vines is 35 years and these are grown on Jurassic argilo-calcaire soil that grants to the
wine a certain richness of flavour. It goes through a traditional vinification of 11 months and is 30% aged
in oak. The result is a lovely rich tasting wine but with light citric-style flavours. We think you’ll like it!

Chablis Premier Cru, Beauroy, Maurice Tremblay, 2018 17,20€ £14.60

This Premier Cru Chablis has more body and apparent fruit in the mouth than a “straight” Chablis and
it represents exceptional value. Maurice Tremblay’s Chablis are widely respected, having much of the
steeliness of character that characterise the better wines of Chablis.

Casta Diva, Lirac Blanc, Domaine Maby (Rhône), 2018 17,90€ £15.20
This wine has probably been awarded every top medal there is to be won in any competition that it is
entered for. A beautiful Lirac made from 68% Clairette and 32% Viognier and fermented in new oak
casks. It is fresh yet it has lovely spicy fruit and oak flavours. The owner of the domaine, Richard Maby,
is fanatical about opera (as you might have imagined!).

Château de Fayolle, Saussignac, Doux (Bergerac), 2013 Half-Litres 13,60€ £11.50

Saussignac is right next door to the more famous Monbazillac. This is a top quality sweet wine made from
individually picked botrytised Sémillon grapes that are then vinified in oak barrels. The result has a smooth
fruity style reminiscent of apricots and cream! This is a wine to serve either with a first course or with dessert.

Chablis Premier Cru, La Fourchaume, Maurice Tremblay, 2019 20,90€ £17.70

This Premier Cru is packed full of fruit, in a Chablis sort of way! The vines are aged between 25 and 45
years and the wine is made in the traditional way by this producer - not oaked at all. As soon as you put
your nose to the glass, you can tell there is something special to come – and the flavour does not disappoint.
This will keep happily another five years at least. A gorgeous wine.

Lyre, Muscat de Petits Grains, Vendanges Passerillées

Domaine de l’Arjolle (Côtes de Thongue), 2018 Half-Litres 13,80€ £11.70
Lyre’s Muscat grapes are harvested late in mid-October by which time they have shrivelled slightly, expelling
water from the grapes. The juice is fermented and aged in oak for 10 months. The finished product
is an elegant sweet nectar that appears to be full of exotic fruit flavours. Elegant packaging too!

Rasteau, La Galopine, Domaine des Escaravailles (Rhône), 2019 21,90€ £18.60

One of our most popular white Rhônes, produced by Gilles Ferran – a dry white made from Roussanne,
Marsanne and Viognier grapes but vinified in the style of a top white Burgundy. An “alternative Burgundy”
of fabulous value. As strange as this may sound, if you appreciate “great” white Burgundy, you will LOVE this.

Riesling Geisberg, Grand Cru, Robert Faller et Fils (Alsace), 2013 22,90€ £19.40
Grand Cru Alsace production is tiny – with low yielding vines of the highest quality. This is a delectable,
dry fruity Riesling that makes really refreshing drinking. Probably best served with a meal, this is an impressive
wine by any standards but at this price, it’s also a bargain.

Saint-Romain, Sous le Château, Monopole,

Domaine Coste-Caumartin (Burgundy), 2018 23,40€ £19.80
Simply delicious, this white has a fuller, yet still minerally style, made by the Sordet family at Coste-Caumartin
in the village of Pommard. The wine has some new oak to complement the flavours, giving layers of
different flavours – light exotic fruit, smoothness and minerality.

Savigny-lès-Beaune Blanc, Domaine Maldant-Pauvelot (Burgundy), 2018 24,70€ £20.90

Simply: a beautiful wine. It has a fuller flavour, that being typical of this village. With its lemony creamy
character and a long aftertaste, this wine is delicious now but can also stay good for at least three years more.

Pouilly-Fuissé, Premier Cru, Aux Bouthières, In wooden (6) cases

Domaine Pascal & Mireille Renaud (Burgundy), 2020 24,40€ £20.70
This wine is made from 100 year old vines in Aux Bouthières which is one of the best vine plots in Fuissé.
The soil here gives an opulence of fruit combined with a minerality. Fermentation is in demi-muid large
barrels and the juice is left on the lees for 18 months. This superb wine has just become legally entitled
to call itself Premier Cru. This is simply magnificent Burgundy and, whilst fabulous now, it will get even
better over the next 10 years.

Saint-Aubin, Premier Cru, En Remilly, Aymeric Mazilly (Burgundy), 2020 25,80€ £21.90
In our view, En Remilly is the most attractive of the white wines from the Saint-Aubin appellation. This
example is decidedly underpriced for its quality and compares most favourably with wines from “greater”
or well-known producers. This is very fine wine by any standards, with a subtle balance of oak and fine
minerally white Burgundy flavours. Great to impress your guests without breaking the bank. Bottled in
the last days of August 2021, this will start to show its true potential from early 2022.

Meursault, Les Meurgers, Domaine Mazilly (Burgundy), 2019 27,70€ £23.50

This is a great value wine from a single vineyard within the Meursault appellation, produced by a small
family grower. Delicious to enjoy for another five years, this wine has the slightly fuller “nutty” character,
backed with a little oak, that we believe one should expect from a decent Meursault.

Gewürztraminer, Vendanges Tardives, Robert Faller et Fils (Alsace), 2018 34,90€ £29.60
Aromatic, sweet lusciously flavoured and even, with the taste of “noble rot”, this is not heavy but is a delight
to savour at the end of your special meal. As with most decent quality sweet wines, if there should be any
left in the bottle, put it back in the fridge and it will keep for several days – often weeks.
Meursault, Vieux Clos du Château de Citeaux,
Domaine Philippe Bouzereau (Burgundy), 2019 Half Bottles only at 17,90€ £15.20
Château de Citeaux, the original home of the Cistercian monks in Burgundy, makes classic Meursault:
smooth and slightly “nutty” in style. This is of a Premier Cru quality, but without the usual price tag.
It is magnificent – a real pleasure to drink, offering excellent value for a mature white Burgundy of such high quality.
With recent yield shortfalls, such high quality wines are now hard to find at a sensible price. Buy now.

Château Coutet, Premier Grand Cru Classé,

Barsac-Sauternes (Bordeaux), 2017 Half Bottles 19,90€ £16.90
For those who like the great sweet wines of Bordeaux, this is gorgeous. This 2017 contains a heady mix
of exotic fruit aromas with a full but fresh honeyed sweetness on the palate and an extraordinarily long finish.
It is a masterpiece that will develop over several more years yet.

Chablis Grand Cru, Bougros, Domaine Billaud-Simon, 2015 57,50€ £48.70

A great wine from Billaud-Simon who make a softer style of Chablis whilst still retaining the minerality.
With the additional benefit of some bottle age, this wine has a richness of flavour. Overall a rich and complex wine.

RED WINES
Combe de Madriel, Minervois, 2019 4,40€ £3.70
This used to be called Combe de Lauran. As one might expect from the Minervois appellation, this wine
has a full, rich and slightly earthy texture that makes it so good to go with richer foods. This wine is very
fruity and offers easy drinking and great value.

Le Petit Pont, Réserve, Rouge, Vin de Pays d’Oc, 2020 4,60€ £3.90
This extra-ordinarily delicious wine is made from Grenache, Cinsault and Cabernet Sauvignon. With an
appealingly soft, full and juicy red fruit flavour, this is a great example of the new quality coming from the
Languedoc. The bottle also has a stylish presentation. It’s one of our best “must try” wines. (Price in UK shops: £7.85)

Côtes du Rhône Rouge (Rhône) 4,90€ £4.20

Half Bottles 2,90€ £2.50
A lighter style of fruity red wine from the Côtes du Rhône that is made predominantly from soft and slightly
spicy Grenache. An honest inexpensive red from the co-operative in Saint-Priést that has a gentle fruity
flavour and is really easy to enjoy. Good quality and well-priced.

Ventoux, La Claretière, Pierre Amadieu (Rhône), 2019 6,40€ £5.40

For some time, we were searching for a decent Côtes du Ventoux at a sensible price. When these
wines are good, they tend nowadays to be too expensive in our view. Otherwise they are mass-produced

The area of Fitou in the Languedoc makes its reds from Carignan, Grenache and Syrah – grapes that give
soft generous flavours. An easy drinking, slightly spicy red that we’d suggest shows at its best when served
with red meat or cheese. Leave this open for an hour and it develops a smooth silky texture.

Called “The Cherries” because the wine evokes the freshness of this fruit. This is one of the most
attractive wines we have tasted from Saint-Chinian. There is a predominance of Syrah with almost
equal measures of Grenache, Carignan and Cinsault grapes and the wine’s style is rich and fruity in
flavour, without being heavy. With an attractive label, this is a really interesting wine that represents
extra-ordinary value.

Typical Claret: soft and fruity with a long dry finish. From an excellent year, this red wine made
predominantly from Merlot, comes from the Entre Deux Mers region and is ready to drink now but we
believe this inexpensive claret will remain good for another couple of years. Best served with lighter meats.

A delicious red that is full of soft and slightly spicy Grenache. Classic labelling too makes this very

Stunning – this is a memorable wine. There is the label to start with, not that you should judge a wine
that way, and then there is the rich brambly aroma. Finally the many concentrated fruit layers of Syrah,
Grenache and Carignan leave you in no doubt that the winemaker and the terroir have combined to
produce a modern style of “Big Red”.

A very good rich and brambly wine from this warm southern area, with ripe fruit and “garrigue” flavours.
Made from 90% Syrah and 10% Grenache, this is great for those winter dishes: a wine that is simply
full of red fruit.

An intense wine but balanced with elegance. The full fruit style comes from its 60% Carignan and
40% Syrah and we feel this is so much more interesting than most other Fitou wines.

Burgundy. This wine has the lighter Pinot character that is so typical of this southern area of Burgundy.
Whilst good to enjoy now, it also has the potential to mature.

Comte Philippe de la Poype produces “real” Beaujolais – wines that are smooth and full of succulent
Gamay fruit. This is a great example with rich juicy fruit and you may be surprised by the “depth” of
this wine. Serve at room temperature or slightly cooled to reveal its refreshing qualities.

This top wine is absolutely full of fruit, yet remains elegant. Grown on bluish volcanic soil, the grapes
get maximum extraction to produce a richer flavour that is great to enjoy by itself or with most meats or with
cheeses. It is a good testament to the revitalised quality of Beaujolais wines. Exquisite!

This is the superior blend from this lovely vineyard being made from old vines with an age of between
40 and 80 years. The wine has that soft dry fruitiness so typical of the Cabernet Franc grape yet it is full,

A great new discovery. Unlike so many, this Beaujolais will last for years. It has a fuller style of Gamay
fruit which makes it easy to enjoy with food as well as simply by itself.

Le Petit Roy, Domaine Jean Royer (Rhône), 20ème Année 10,60€ £9.00
This “table wine” is made by one of the top producers of Châteauneuf du Pape, Domaine Jean Royer
from the same grapes and the same techniques but outside any appellation. This gorgeous wine can be
enjoyed now or kept happily for 2 years, perhaps more. As a Vin de Table, the wine is not entitled
to quote a year on its label, although Royer has a coding of “20ème année” meaning that this wine is
from 2020. Its title belies its provenance – this is a very impressive and delicious wine. (Price in UK shops: £13.95)

This is a cherry red coloured and mid-weight fruity Pinot Noir that compares favourably with wines from
the same grape in Burgundy at a much higher price. For enjoying over the next two years.

Cairanne, Cuvée Tradition,

Domaine Les Hautes Cances (Rhône), 2016 ORGANIC 11,50€ £9.70
This 20 hectare vineyard is the first in the Cairanne appellation in the southern Rhône to go into organic
conversion. The wine has a complexity of dark fruits on the nose and a spicy mature richness on the palate.
This wine is “proper” Cairanne and the vineyard is definitely one to watch.

We have always been impressed with many of the Burgundy wines from this family domaine based in
the village of Meloisey behind Meursault. This wine is full of smooth juicy Pinot fruity flavours; owing
to the vines having an average age of 45 years. Mazilly’s winemaking is hand-crafted whilst offering
excellent value – that’s a rarity in Burgundy!

Pinot Noir, Cuvée Réserve, Robert Faller & Fils (Alsace), 2020 12,40€ £10.50
Pinot Noir from Alsace can be pale in colour but this wine is ruby red and is easy to appreciate with its
fresh fruity cherry-like Pinot flavours. Easy to enjoy by itself or with light summery food. Faller makes
delicious Pinot Noir.

The village of Vacqueyras in the southern Rhône produces wines of medium body but with the spiciness
that is so typical of that region. You can almost feel the area’s warmth in the richness and flavour of this
gorgeous wine!

Château de Musset, Cuvée Compostelle,

Lalande de Pomerol (Bordeaux), 2016 12,70€ £10.80
This is one of the most important properties of Lalande de Pomerol with 27 hectares under vine. The wine
is 76% Merlot and 19% Cabernet Sauvignon and has a medium weight fruity aroma with fine tannins behind.
Good to enjoy now and over the next three years.

Mercurey Rouge, Buissonnier, Vignerons de Buxy (Burgundy), 2020 12,80€ £10.80

The village of Mercurey in Burgundy’s Côte Chalonnaise produces mostly red wine from the Pinot Noir
grape. Its best wines compare favourably with the great wines of the Côte d’Or but at a more attractive
price. This mid-weight wine has a lovely soft fruity Pinot character that is delicious to drink by itself
as well as with lighter meats and even many fish dishes.

Château La Vieille Forge, Lalande de Pomerol (Bordeaux), 2019 12,90€ £10.90

This wine is made from 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon grown on sand, clay and gravel, giving
a full, rich and soft flavour, which makes it perfect with red meats. From a good year, this wine can be
enjoyed already but clearly it will also be good until, say, 2025.

Gigondas, Romane Machotte, Pierre Amadieu (Rhône), 2019 13,80€ £11.70

Pierre Amadieu’s philosophy is simple: to produce wines that are fruity, supple and elegant – not heavy
and over-extracted as can be the case in so many Rhône wines. This wine is fruity and his wine making
style may remind you of a fine red Burgundy. This is gorgeous – soft but with a richness that
comes through on the palate. Fantastic value, and you could keep it at least another 5 years if you wanted.

Crozes-Hermitage Rouge, Sens, Fayolle Fils & Fille (Rhône), 2018 13,90€ £11.80
The Syrah grapes are taken from several terroirs and the juice is then vinified and matured in tank so as to
retain freshness – indeed the wine has an aroma reminiscent of small red fruits. This rich fruity style of
Crozes is made for instant pleasure and is much better than so many other wines from this well-known appellation.

Sancerre Rouge, Domaine Franck Millet (Loire), 2019 14,50€ £12.30

Made from Pinot Noir, this speciality is light textured but has plenty of soft fruitiness. From our top
quality white Sancerre producer, this is great wine and defies those who think that Sancerre is always white!

Château Tour du Pas Saint-Georges,

Saint-Georges Saint-Emilion (Bordeaux), 2016 14,70€ £12.50
This excellent claret is made by one of Bordeaux's leading winemakers Pascal Delbeck who, for 20 years,
was responsible for the wines produced at Château Ausone, the top Grand Cru Saint-Emilion property.
The wine is rich and soft and is worthy of a much higher price. A wine that should keep very happily
until 2025, this is a bargain and is quite delicious.

Château Haut Madrac, Cru Bourgeois Haut-Médoc (Bordeaux), 2016 15,40€ £13.10
A firmer style of claret from the Médoc that is soft and fruity on the palate and with a dry “finish”. As a
prized Cru Bourgeois this classy wine offers amazing value, and tastes very well with most meats or cheeses.
If kept, it will also remain good for at least another five years. From a very respectable year.

Le Prieuré de Saint-Céols (Loire), 2019 16,20€ £13.70
Red wine made from Pinot Noir in the Loire tends to be light in style. We have really enjoyed this fuller
fruitier style of red which has a lovely juicy Pinot Noir character.. In our view, it is not dissimilar to a decent
quality red Burgundy, but at a fraction of the price. To enjoy with most meats or fish.

Margaux Private Reserve (Bordeaux), 2019 16,90€ £14.30

This is in fact the “third” wine from the great 3rd growth Château Kirwan. The wine is rich with an
upfront fruity aroma and on the palate, the wine is soft and rich, backed with some tannin to keep it
going over the coming three years. An understated and great value wine.

Château Haut-Vignoble Séguin, Saint-Estèphe (Bordeaux), 2014

(2ème vin de Château Beau-Site, Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel) 16,90€ £14.30
As the second wine of the excellent Château Beau-Site, this is a really good claret at a sensible price. With
70% Cabernet Sauvignon, it has the “firmness” and slight spiciness that one can expect from the reds of
Saint-Estèphe and it has the potential to be good for another five years. Great with cheeses or stronger red meats.

Givry, Premier Cru, Clos de la Baraude,

Domaine Steinmaier (Burgundy), 2019 17,40€ £14.70
One of the most attractive red Burgundies at this price we have tasted in several years. Being on clay and
limestone, the village of Givry produces fatter styles of Pinot Noir and this is delightful: mid-weight with
soft, smooth juicy Pinot fruit. A star in our book, but only a tiny amount is available this year.

Côte de Nuits Villages, Les Retraits,

Domaine Boursot Père et Fils (Burgundy), 2014 18,90€ £16.00
This is an understated wine, coming from Comblanchien, just beside the "Clos de la Maréchale", one of
Nuits Saint Georges’ greatest Premier Crus. The wine has the style of a great Burgundy – full of Pinot fruit
with body. This wine can be enjoyed now but it can also keep another three to five years.

Menhir, Château Bouscassé (Côtes de Gascogne), 2010 19,90€ £16.90

Rich and smooth, almost in the style of a Cabernet/Shiraz from “down under”, but this wine is in fact made
from the unusual grape, Tannat, along with Merlot. A wine grown on chalky rock and crafted by the
innovative winemaker Alain Brumont. This has a delicious balance of soft red fruit flavour backed with oak.

Les Hauts de Lynch-Moussas, Pauillac (Bordeaux), 2015

As the name implies, this is the second wine of Château Lynch-Moussas, a 5th growth château in the
appellation of Pauillac which produces richer styles of claret. Producing better and better wine these days,

Santenay, Domaine Maldant-Pauvelot (Burgundy), 2017 21,70€ £18.40

A fuller style of Pinot Noir from the village of Santenay in the southern Côte de Beaune. Soft and juicy,
this is a bargain for a wine of such high quality. Delicious to drink now and until 2025 at least.

Les Chemins de la Croix du Casse, Pomerol (Bordeaux), 2013 21,90€ £18.60

The second wine of the famous Château La Croix du Casse, a property that has been acquired recently by
the owners of top châteaux Batailley and Trottevieille. This is surprisingly forward and easy to enjoy now,
but it will also mature well over the next 3 years. This high quality wine offers super value for a top Pomerol.

Savigny-lès-Beaune, Domaine Maldant-Pauvelot (Burgundy), 2017 21,90€ £18.60

Grown on the limestone soil of Savigny, this red has a fullness of character that makes it good to enjoy
now as well as to keep for five years. An excellent ripe-flavoured Savigny made by Jean-Luc Maldant
at an affordable price.

Château La Tour de Bessan, Cru Bourgeois Margaux (Bordeaux), 2016 24,30€ £20.60
Sited in the commune of Cantenac, and run by the daughter of Lucien Lurton this property is now
producing very respectable wines at sensible prices. Guided by consultant winemaker Eric Boissenot,
it’s 54% Merlot and 46% Cabernet Sauvignon - it’s a firmer style of wine but with an underlying soft
richness derived from the terroir. Enjoy now …to 2024?

Château Montus, Alain Brumont (Madiran), 2016 In wooden cases 24,40€ £20.70
This mature wine made from Tannat and Cabernet Sauvignon combines power and softness. It could
also improve further over the next couple of years. A fine example of “big” Tannat from its ancestral
home of the Gers.

A château that has been revitalised recently. This wine is made from a blend of 63% Merlot, 33% Cabernet
Franc and 4% Cabernet Sauvignon so a fruity mid-weight wine with a little backbone to keep it going over
another five years at least. It can also be enjoyed right now.

This gorgeous red is simply packed with juicy fruit - Saint-Romain reds tend to have concentrated

Another great value wine from the family house of Mazilly based in the village of Meloisey. Made from

similar wines, and can be enjoyed now. It will also keep for another five years perfectly happily.

The 18th century Pontac-Lynch is a highly regarded château situated in the commune of Cantenac in
Margaux. Made from 40% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot,
this is a richer style of smooth claret that may be enjoyed now and over the next seven years.

Château Haut-Bages Monpelou, Cru Bourgeois, Pauillac (Bordeaux), 2015 28,90€ £24.50
In 1948, this château was detached from the renowned Château Duhart-Milon, the home of the Rothschild
family of Lafite. This wine is full flavoured and smooth, being made from one third each of the two Cabernets
and Merlot on prime gravely soil. Great quality.

A beautiful wine that is typical Volnay – a mid-weight silky and smooth red with great Pinot Noir fruit.
Made by Benoit Sordet at Coste-Caumartin, one of the top growers of the region, based in the Volnay’s
next door village of Pommard.

Sarget de Gruaud-Larose, Saint-Julien (Bordeaux), 2016

(2nd wine of Château Gruaud-Larose, 2ème cru Saint-Julien) 31,70€ £26.90
61% Cab Sauv, 29% Merlot, 7% Cab Franc and 3% Petit Verdot give this wine a firmer style. Gruaud is
now under the eye of consultant winemaker Eric Boissenot and thereby makes better and better wines
each year. Even this, the second wine, stayed 14 months in new oak for 15% of the juice and was then
married with 85% juice from one and two year old oak casks. This is serious wine with a long potential – to 2026?

Nuits Saint-Georges, Domaine Boursot Père & Fils (Burgundy), 2016 34,50€ £29.20
A rich smooth Pinot wine with vegetal aromas from a fast up and coming grower. The Boursot vineyards
are on the edge of the Clos de la Maréchale, one of the finest Premier Crus in Nuits Saint-Georges. Fine Burgundy!

La Closerie de Fourtet, Saint-Emilion (Bordeaux), 2017

This is a fabulous wine and offers excellent value. This “second wine” made from younger vines with less
ageing than its “parent”, can be enjoyed now but with its ripe tannins, it can also be kept another five years
easily. Clos Fourtet is one of the handful of walled vineyards or “clos” remaining and its wine is 85% Merlot,
10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc, making rich ripe wines that have been aged in new oak.
Dark and intense wine – a particular favourite. Will be good for another 10 years at least.

Chambolle-Musigny, Les Nazoires,

Domaine Boursot Père & Fils (Burgundy), 2018 41,90€ £35.50
This excellent wine contains all the characteristics that have made Chambolle unique and highly sought.
Contrary to other reds from the Cote de Nuits, Chambolle wines should be soft and fragrant and as they
age, they become slightly richer and rounder in style. This is excellent Chambolle without some of the crazy
prices being charged by some of the more “trendy” growers.

Vosne-Romanée, Vieilles Vignes,

Domaine Boursot Père & Fils (Burgundy), 2020 52,40€ £44.40
The wines from this village in the Côte de Nuits are usually of a richer style of Pinot Noir and are
becoming so difficult to buy owing to strong demand. This wine made from older vines is excellent, full of
fruit and has the potential to last until 2040 at least. Although we say it ourselves, Boursot’s wines are
being made better with each passing year: watch this producer.

Château Montus, Prestige (Madiran), 2002 In wooden (1) cases 52,90€ £44.80
This is a rarity made by Alain Brumont from 30 year old 100% Tannat that is then aged in new oak over
16 months. It is a wine that will go on and on, with rich flavours that would make it ideal to accompany
duck or other high fat foods. Each bottle is in individual wooden box – the perfect present for a winelover.

Pommard, Premier Cru, Clos des Boucherottes,

Domaine Coste-Caumartin (Burgundy), 2019 In wooden (6) cases 57,90€ £49.10
Coste-Caumartin has the monopoly of this Clos in prime Pommard country. The wine in 2019 has a
juiciness of delicate Pinot Noir fruit while it also has an underlying richness. Pommard wines are famed
for their more structured style and so this wine will be great over the next 10 years.

Corton-Bressandes, Grand Cru,

Domaine Philippe Bouzereau (Burgundy), 2019 70,70€ £59.90
Grand Cru Burgundy has become astronomically expensive in recent years. The hill of Corton is the producer
of some of Burgundy’s most sought after Grand Cru wines. This wine has a lovely purity of Pinot Noir
fruit with a very persistent flavour. Philippe Bouzereau has crafted here a very impressive wine to enjoy over
the next 20 years.

Gevrey-Chambertin, Premier Cru, La Combe aux Moines,

Domaine Faiveley (Burgundy), 2015 78,60€ £66.60
This is a rich Pinot wine, thanks to both the soil, this vintage and the very old vines being used. There are
several layers of flavour in this magnificent wine: an expression of very high quality from this top producer.

Clos Vougeot, Grand Cru, Domaine Boursot Père & Fils (Burgundy), 2019 147,30€ £124.80
This wine is just opening up, being a longer term wine from a “richer” style of vintage. This stylish
Grand Cru is elegant and has a lovely alluring delicate fruity aroma with a richness on the palate.
It should be good for another 20 years.

ROSE WINES
Le Petit Pont, Réserve, Rosé, Vin de Pays d’Oc, 2020 4,60€ £3.90
Grenache and Cinsault are the two grapes that have gone into the making of this refreshing rosé. This is
a good wine by any standards but it is baffling how such good quality can be produced at this very
reasonable price. The wine is light and dry, fresh and “grapey” - perfect for easy summer drinking. (Price in UK shops: £7.85)

Le Syrah Rosé de Morin-Langaran (Languedoc), 2019 6,90€ £5.80

Full fruited dry rosé in a stylish clear bottle, produced on the Etang de Thau. With the body of a red
and the freshness of a white, this is wonderful for enjoying at all times – even in winter! A great favourite!

Cabernet d’Anjou, Cuvée du Rossignol, Château la Varière (Loire), 2018 7,60€ £6.40
A fresh and grapey rosé with a little residual sugar, making it so very refreshing when served well chilled

No particular comment required here as Minuty has become a well recognised brand name now. The château

Made from late harvested individually picked Petit Manseng grapes, this sweet grapey wine has a delicate
flavour. Perfect to go with fruit desserts, some cheeses or even the traditional foie gras.

Saussignac is right next door to the more famous Monbazillac. This is a top quality sweet wine made from
individually picked botrytised Sémillon grapes that are then vinified in oak barrels. The result has a smooth

Lyre, Muscat de Petits Grains, Vendanges Passerillées

Lyre’s Muscat grapes are harvested late in mid-October by which time they have shrivelled slightly, expelling
water from the grapes. The juice is fermented and aged in oak for 10 months. The finished product
is an elegant sweet nectar that appears to be full of exotic fruit flavours. Elegant packaging too!

Aromatic, sweet lusciously flavoured and even, with the taste of “noble rot”, this is not heavy but is a delight
to savour at the end of your special meal. As with most decent quality sweet wines, if there should be any
left in the bottle, put it back in the fridge and it will keep for several days – often weeks.

grapes: Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. A super value wine that is always popular with its softer style, appealing
to a wide variety of people.

An elegant dry sparkling wine produced in the Saumur region of the Loire, by the Méthode
Traditionnelle (once called the Champagne Method). As close as it gets to Champagne, this is

80% of champagne’s volume comes from 20% of the houses or négociants: the big names that we all recognise – Moet,
Clicquot, Bollinger etc. Typically these houses maintain contracts with growers who supply them either in grapes or in bottle
with the volumes required for the houses to fulfil their sales. We have included below some of these very growers, who produce
wines with individual character and at very good value.

This amazing champagne is made by a small Premier Cru and Grand Cru grower in the prime village of
Dizy just outside Epernay. It’s made from equal percentages of Pinot Noir, Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay,
with 50% reserve (older) wine and then aged for a minimum of 18 months, giving soft fruity but toasty
flavours. This is a superb find: good quality, sensibly priced with a smart label, reminiscent of Bollinger RD.
If you want inexpensive champagne, we believe you will not find better than this. Exclusive to Boursot’s.

Richard-Dhondt, Cuvée d’Or, Blanc de Blancs, Brut Champagne 22,40€ £19.00

A fine elegant champagne made entirely from white grapes i.e. the Chardonnay. It is made by our friends,
the Richard family in Dizy who also make Premier and Grand Cru wines and this is clearly evident in the
quality of their “lesser” wines. Very enjoyable.

Tribaut, Premier Cru, Demi-Sec Champagne 22,70€ £19.20

A champagne that is sweeter in style from this small family producer in the Premier Cru village of
Hautvillers near Epernay. This is a fruity champagne that is refreshing to enjoy well chilled by itself
or with lighter fruit desserts.

The small grower G. Tribaut in the village of Hautvillers, just outside Epernay is one of our favourites at
the moment. This understated wine is gorgeous and is made from 50% Chardonnay and 50% Pinot Noir.
It has fine bubbles and is very elegant - light, fresh but with plenty of flavour. Fabulous: a really impressive
Champagne that to us is reminiscent of Louis Roederer. If you want GREAT champagne without breaking
the bank, look no further.

Champagne Richard-Dhondt, Brut Nature, Grand Cru, Millésime 2012 38,40€ £32.50
A connoisseur Grand Cru champagne whose complex flavours will open up even further over the next
five to ten years. The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir have been fermented with indigenous yeasts and then
aged in oak. It is made almost as a fine wine. Extra-ordinary value for such quality. A revelation!

Perrier-Jouët, Grand Brut Champagne 38,40€ £32.50

This is the Grande Marque unquestionably put on the global map by the Boursot family between 1828
and 1960. This champagne has the finest reputation and is in our view the ultimate easy drinking non-vintage

To most of us, the classification on brandies is confusing. VSOP generally has an average age of 10 years, XO has an
average age of 20 years, Hors d’Age (“beyond age”) implies very old and at least 10 years old...!
