HHM procedure

1. Open the MS EXCEL file

2. Make 3 column for Rectangular ,Trapezoidal, Triangular
3. Now the input quantities name are written in row in each column which is
denoted by colour pink
4. For Rectangular width,depth,slope,Chezy’s constant.
5. For Trapezoidal, width,depth,slope,slide slope, Chezy’s constant.
6. For Triangular depth,slope,Chezy’s constant, Ꝋ
7. Now the output quantities name are written in row in each column which is
denoted by colour yellow
8. For Rectangular and Trapezoidal Area ,Perimeter ,Hydraulic depth, Velocity of
flow ,Rate of flow . For Triangular X and Y are extra.
9. Now in output rows formula are inserted for respective rows
Rectangular
 For Area = B13*B14 which is width x depth
 For Perimeter =B13+2*B14 which is width + 2 x depth
 For hydraulic depth= B17/B18 which is Area/perimeter
 For velocity of flow =(B16*(SQRT(B19*B15))) which is C x sqrt R x i
 For rate of flow =B17*B20 which is A x V
Trapezoidal
 For Area =(E13+E14*E16)*E14 which is( b + y x slide slope ) x y
 For Perimeter = (E13+2*E14*(SQRT(1+E16*E16))) which is write formula
 For hydraulic depth= E18/E19 which is write formula
 For velocity of flow =(E17*(SQRT(E15*E20))) which is write formula
 For rate of flow = E18*E21 which is write formula
Triangular
 X =TAN(H16*3.14/180)*H13 which is write formula
 Y =H13/COS(H16*3.14/180) which is write formula
 For Area =1/2*2*H17*H13 which is write formula
 For Perimeter =2*H18 which is write formula
 For hydraulic depth =H19/H20 which is write formula
 For velocity of flow =(H15*(SQRT(H14*H21))) which is write formula
 For rate of flow =H19*H22 which is write formula
10. Now write values of any selected problem in input the answer will be displayed
in output
