MY REFLECTION

The world has changed dramatically in the nearly two years since the COVID-19
pandemic. Businesses were closed, millions of workers lost their jobs, millions became
infected and died, and the deadly virus remained a very dangerous threat. As a result,
the Department of Education has adopted and implemented a variety of strategies,
techniques, and modalities to ensure learning while also protecting each learner's
wellness and safety. A paradigm shift from traditional face-to-face instruction to virtual
online teaching and learning. It has been the most challenging part for the teachers,
though it could be minimal for some digital natives but could be wary among digital
immigrant teachers. Aside from that, teaching evidence-based topics like science can
be difficult since certain lessons require hands-on activities. Thus,  the conducted
webinar on pedagogical retooling of science teachers on teaching method and
strategies in the new normal with a theme: “Capacitating Teachers towards producing
21st Century Learners in a New Normal” somehow would be a great help for us science
teacher in deciding what are the best teaching methods, strategies and techniques as
well as digital tools to be used in fostering science concepts to our learners in a new
normal set-up.

The webinar was started on time whereinfact, it was started at exactly 9:00 o
clock in the morning. However, due to some technical glitches and issues most
especially on the unstable internet connection, the audio or the music background of our
convocation and national in was inaudible. Such problem was out of our control. Luckily,
because of the expertise of our 3 speakers regarding their inputs coupled with the
competence of our Master of Ceremony, the overall impact of the webinar was
exemplary or outstanding.

My takeaways with regards to webinars conducted was cooperation and unity

make the activity successful. With our unity and cooperation, despite from limited time
and meetings were done virtually, the said webinar was still successful.
