My ultimate dream job is to be an accountant. What is an accountant?

Well An
accountant provides information about financial records and is involved with the
financial side of business. This involves financial reporting, taxation, auditing, forensic
accounting, corporate finance and so on. They have a strategic role in companies as they
provide professional and trustworthy advice. They work in many different sectors
including public firms, industry and commerce.

Many people think that being an accountant is a boring and tedious job but I find
it very interesting. I want to become an accountant for various reasons. First of all I enjoy
number-crunching. I’m not good in Math but I really enjoy working with numbers. Some
of my highest grades in school come from subjects that require a lot of calculations.

Accountants make a lot of money also. Salary varies depending whether you get a
degree from college or university. A college program is usually 3 years, and university 4
depending on whether you would like to become a charted account (CA), certified
management accountant (CMA), certified general accountant (CGA) etc. With no
certification out of school you should expect to make $35 000 a year, and it only goes up
from there.
